I was referring to the rapid general turnover on what the "best" hardware is, which can make developers more lazy than usual. You stalking me was funny at first but now it's just creepy.

OK. Maybe I was exagerating that the newest most expensive equipment would be obsolete by the time you drove it home from the store.
No, I know that in reality you can buy a PC for the low, low price of $1900 ($1700 if you can build it yourself. w00t!) that is capable of playing at least 7 out of every 10 games on the shelf (8 out of 10 if you can handle 15 frames per second with ground textures turned off). And that hardware would be relevant for at least a year!
And just think of those 7 out of 10 games you get to choose from!
Games like WWII FPS, WWII FPS set in France, WWII FPS focusing on a different company in the army, WWII FPS featuring the marines instead of the army, WWII FPS where you fight Itally instead of Germany, at least until you find out that Germany is the true evil force in the game and you fight it as a surprise end map, WWII FPS set in an alternate 1940's with laser guns, WWII 3rd person shooter, WWII MMORPG, EA console port shovelware, and something with SIMs.
No, I know PC gaming is where it's at.
Of what I quoted? That's because you're buying cheap ass shit, so yeah it'll only last about that long. But if you spend good money you'll be able to play everything easily for many years, and when that gets outdated upgrade it to play newer stuff at not that high of cost.
If you mean the stupid WWII thing... well that doesn't even justify a response.
IMO I perfer dipshits to hate PC games so that when I say, "I play PC games," I don't get automatically associated with them. So stop argueing about that.
please you could build a core 2 duo system with a midrange direct x9 video card and the full capabilities of the processor and the card probably wont be reached for awhile, well the CPU anyway, who the fuck knows when PC developers will start making shit multi-threaded.
"Technically all he was doing was stating the title of this very thread."
Bingo.
"That next-gen rap was worth the quote"
No, no it wasn't.
PC gaming is cool.
Does DX10 count as next gen? It seems to be a big enough leap.
Agreed. DX10 will herald in the new age of PC gaming.
I have spoken.
