Yeah, I know.

The Lego robots rock. I have like seven or eight of them. Childhood Legos didn't give you good enough pieces but I built robots anyway.
I hear they're changing the name to ¡Lego!
The older lego sets were so much better because they were nothing but a huge quantity of mostly basic elements and some instructions. The castle I had as a kid was almost a thousand pieces and all but a few of those pieces were general purpose bricks that could be used to make anything. It would have been nice to have some slightly more specialized bricks, but it wasn't a big deal.
Now, most of the lego sets consist of a few massive single-purpose pieces and a handful of basics. That not only makes the sets a joke to assemble, but also makes them far less versatile.
'A new toy everyday' my ass. There's no fucking way to make a castle out of a 2-piece boat hull. I guess that's what the company has to do to keep selling their product, but I'm glad it wasn't that way when I was a kid.
yeah, they keep dumping down the sets.
Anyone else remember those super big sets that let you build exact copies of 18 wheelers and racing boats and stuff?
=/ don't see much of that these days.
There was actually a big Yoda set I saw a few years ago that looked like it was made-up entirely out of basic bricks, albeit in unusual colors.
eh I'm tired of the star wars legos. They seem to be the only sets that lego is putting their whole heart into.
that bionical shit is just stupid
oh and has anyone looked at the men that come with the robot sets? they have fucking anime hair
The lego castle series was my favorite as a kid.
