Yeah, the DP forums tend to attract people who talk out their ass. Not to say there isn't a healthy portion of the population who are cool... but in recent years, dumbasses have been popping up all too frequently.

Seriously, I can't understand the logic. A few sincerely believe that online play is not needed and that it would be too expensive and technically difficult to implement it and leaderboards into the games offered. I even got hit with the classic "there are only assholes on XBL" stupidity.
"Too bad "some guys at the Digital Press board" probably don't know a damn thing about what they're talking about."
Maybe so, but it does require some effort...something that Nintendo is allergic to these days. I'm sure the HIGH SCORE is just some variable and the game is displaying it. The real issue...well, there is no real issue. There's simply no excuse why a game should cost 5 dollars and not offer SOME form of high score system. I mean, that's why games were played, right? To beat your high score? WTF have online when all you can do with it is pay more money to get games?
When you distance yourself from the situation and think about it, it really is disgusting.
The VC games will absolutely have online play and leaderboards, it's just not going to happen until sales slow down. Give Nintendo an incentive to add value to the games and they will.
Oh, so people have to wait and the market has to be sluggish before they do something? That's awesome!
Here's the incentive: I own 22 XB360 games and almost 30 XBLA games. I own 0 Wii games and 0 VC games. That enough?
"No, because Nintendo could release a VC game where a beautiful woman walks out of the TV screen to blow you and you'd troll it as a gimmick and not buy it."
LOL, you act as if the only two options available to Nintendo were a) release unimproved ROMs or b) do nothing (which is basically the same thing). Why would I deprive myself of playing good games? That makes no sense. Let's see...my favorite hobby is playing games, I should buy games, right?
"It's called business. Good businesses generally don't spend more money on products that are already selling amazingly well."
OK, so what gives them the incentive to improve if you buy their crap? You should get rewarded when you do well and punished if you do shitty. That's why there is no third party support. They could make a kick ass game and it'd go by the wayside. So they just stop trying.
