I don't own a single VC game as opposed to about 12 XBLA games which I play online using my camera to have a fucking blast, even when playing something like UNO (which is pretty rad in its own right, but shit come on), but VC is clearly my favorite since Nintendo is apparently making a nice profit off of it.

Kid Icarus + Contra 3 = WOOO! I love Kid Icarus beyond my own knowing why. It's not always as fun as it is annoying. Maybe it's that it takes me back to Circuit City circa late 90's, when they had that game selector thing where i could play those fantastic Kid Icarus and Goonies 2 games.
Just an idea, but you might want to go ahead and purchase some Wii points if you want to pick up any of the new titles tomorrow. I'd imagine that the servers will be getting hammered tomorrow, and I really wouldn't want to have a financial transaction on a server that may or may not work.
Of course, this also means that even if you have the points it may prove difficult to actually download anything. Oh well.

I've been trying to get excited about my new access to Live Arcade, but now that I've taken a thorough look at what's available I'm supremely dissapointed. I have both, as they both rock. GW is pure adrenaline, and AH is great for two-player online co-op. I think James and I are the only ones here who gave Robo Blitz a chance, and I encourage you to try that one out to. It's a great little action game with huge levels, lots of cool weapons, and some great boss battles.
Most of the Robotron clones on XBLA are surprisingly good. Get Geometry Wars to start, then Assault Heroes and maybe Mutant Storm. Crystal Quest can be skipped if you don't like the demo, though it's fun to jack the difficulty up to psychotic levels and score millions of points every level.

Have about 4000 points I got for Christmas. I'm planning on getting Mario 64 unless there's something wrong with it, any other recommendations? I've never played most TG16 stuff.

Mario 64 is the one title that's marginally worth buying. It's better than the DS port and playing it on Wii means you don't have to own an N64 and use that horrible dildo controller.

Solomon's Key- if you like Adventures of Lolo at all and can stand old schoo toughness, it's rawesome
Wario's Woods- My most played that's not Pinball. Like Yoshi's Cookie? Like Super Mario Bros. 2? Super fun puzzle action.
Ice Hockey- If you have a friend that appreciates old games, there's a lot of fun to be had. Single player isn't bad, but you need someone to yell profanity at. I remember this from a Sears my mom wouldn't leave, so i played Ice Hockey. Those were the days.
Super Mario Bros.- shut up... it's the best game on vc and i sold my gba copy for $35... i deserve this! plus it looks nice on an lcd, which the original doesn't.
Super Castlevania IV- good stuff that i missed because it was super expensive way back when.
Military Madness- A little more simple than Advance Wars, but still pretty good.
Don't get Bonk unless you're convinced you'll like it.
