BTW, this game was never good. And the older games don' have to live up to the same standardds to get decent scores. If they did, these NES/SNES roms would be getting between a 1 and a 3. But LoZ NES got a 7.4 or something.

Play-Asia has a nice write-up of regional compatibility. The bottom line is that everything but the accessories is region locked. If you want Japanese VC games, you'll need a Japanese Wii. I suspect retail games will eventually be unlocked with a simple hardware mod like the GameCube's.
I would count on a software solution first, like the Freeloader. This reminds me though, that most region lockout methods on Nintendo consoles have been simple in design and just as simple to bypass.Quote:
