Are you serious? I love me some capcom, but seriously MMX Collection, MM Collection, Capcom Classics Reloaded, Capcom Classics Remixed, Darkstalkers PSP, SFA3 PSP, SFAC, SF2HF on XBLA. That's all within like 2 years.

Back in college, me and a friend put something like 80 hours into the original. I think Pikachu was around 35 hours, and i was the only one who ever used him. Ness was pretty high on hours too, he was my number 2.
Smash Bros. Melee was just as bad. I'd go over to my friend's house at 1am to have some alcohol and scream bad words at the screen while Pichu did his best to kill the Bowser. I'm not sure how much time we put into it. We played it a few hours every night for a long, long time. It only got boring after 4 hour sessions, and it was always good the next day. I got Melee myself after i moved to the real world, but at the time i didn't have anyone to play it with. It's nothing without friends.
Yeah, i don't think watching someone play it would have the same impact as, say... actually playing it.Quote:
There used to be nothing worse than going over to my friends house and having to sit and watch him play a round of Super Smash Bros. with over 200 lives or something
NO. I always thought it'd be neat if they gave you an option like Nintendo-style/Capcom-style.Quote:
NOW, if Smash Bros. was a REAL CLASSIC 2-D FIGHTING GAME, and all the chahracters had their own move list then that would be freaking awesome. I vote that Nintendo should turn the Super Smash Bros. franchise over to Capcom or SNK right now
Smash Brothers is about Pichuing your ass so bad you get AIDS 2.Quote:
Smash Brothers isn't about that. It's about simple competition and frantic brawl-for-alling. I also like the difference in life meters (counting up percentage).
I didn't think we were taking compilations into account. But actual new games that are just stale retreads, of which capcom has only one. And that's capcom fighter evolution which boasts nothing worthwhile. That's the only thing I would consider re-treading on there old ideas with a new game.
I think this is PART of my hate for the Smash Bros. series. There is nothing less thrilling than watching (or playing for that matter, as Finch mentioned) two of my friends play a round to see who can kill who 200 times or something ridiculous like that. There just isn't enough depth to Super Smash Bros. to keep me interested for more than ten minutes at a time. As a wannabe "Power Stone" type "fighting game" I guess its passable, but I still think Power Stone 1 & 2 are better than the two Super Smash Bros. titles.
Incorrect. And I own all the power stones and all the smash bros. games. What the game needs isn't really depth so much as some better character balance and more unique moves, but I forgive them that.
Smash Bros. Brawl needs online, Pichu, and possibly Jill Dozer. I'm set after that.

Hm. I'd check the Resident Evil series next, but I'm pretty sure those are nothing but totally new games every release.
Were talking about fighting games for starters so the mega man games have no place here, and there hasn't been a new street fighter game in what 7 years now? I'm not saying street fighter didn't have a bad case of the sequels in the past but it doesn't anymore. Not that it matters but I'll take a street fighter retread over anything dealing with smash bros any day of the week.
