I'm not sure how I feel about this. Certainly game reviews age, and it's a lot easier to get an 8 near launch than an 8 in year five of a console's lifespan. Should reviewers assume that game graphics and controls will improve, and knock down the launch games accordingly, or rate them in comparison to the other games being released around that time?

I think you should rate them in comparison to the other games being released at that time. I think for any review regardless of if it comes out in the first month of a consoles release or the 5th year of a consoles release, a review should be based around what's come out before and what is coming out at the same time. To base a review on what could possibly becoming down the road is just silly I think.

Shouldn't that tell you something? The people enjoying the Wii only post in the 360 thread to talk about things they are genuinely interested in related to the 360; that's obviously not the case with the 360 trolls that come into the Wii thread. Everyone hates the PS3 so that thread is moot.

Stopped by the game store today. Wii's and all Wii accessories (Wiimote, component cable, d-cable and such) and games are readily available here. They're all out on display right next to the PS3LOLYOUCANTFINDONEOFTHESE display. Looks like Nintendo's on the ball over here. I'm curious to see how sales are doing for this second week after launch.
