So it looks like the UFC has at least four dominant, transcendant champions at HW, LHW, MW, and WW, now with Kenny Florian being the only hope for the LW to not fall into the same designation with BJ Penn. Looks like they'll have to do a bunch of catchweight superfights to keep things competitive in the upper tier.
Let's see GSP-Shields somehow, someway!

I believe that fight was at 185, yeah? (Tho Shields is a natural 170)
I'd actually prefer a GSP/Diaz matchup.

Unless you are a naturally big HW and have some really good takedown defense, I think Brock is gonna nom nom nom all over you.
I did not see the kiss before the drop. THAT IS GODLY!

It doesn't really look like a kiss during the fight, just that he instinctively brought his hand back up to neutral after the punch. I don't know if there's something about the .gif, because that is a nice touch.
I'm a little disappointed GSP took it to decision. If he pulled his groin mid-match that could limit his effectiveness, so maybe he was playing it safe later when he should have been turning it up. The superman-to-leg kick combo is pretty sweet though.

I think I'd have trouble walking up a flight of stairs, let alone beating down another man for 10 minutes, if I had pulled my groin.

Are we forgetting how tough Alves looked coming into the fight? The guy was unstoppable in 7 (?) fights and looked like a terror. #2 in the WW division across all promotions, imo.
The more I think about it, the more I'm impressed with GSP...that he could so completely dominate Alves.
