a lot of upsets tonight.. seems to be the theme of UFC recently.
lol @ pride. I guess the UFC's tighter restrictions on steroids really have put a damper on the supposedly more dominate pride fighters. Almost everyone has looked terrible in the ring, excluding Q Jackson.
overall(once again) the free fight night a few days before was way more entertaining than the pay per view. The first fight in the pay per view tonight was really good though. Everything else I could have skipped. Rua looked horrid.
also lol @ W silva. He was supposed to come in and challenge Chucky after Chuck won.
oh also the Jon Fitch Vs. Diego Sanchez fight was decent. I love seeing Diego lose.
Liddell loses again. Shit's not looking good for the Iceman...
And so much for Shogun. Sedition's right- other than Rampage, the Pride guys are really failing to impress.
Yeah, a lot of the guys have just come in and looked horrible, but on the other hand Silva and Rampage absolutely dominated the current champions in their respective divisions. I think the "Pride is soooo much better than UFC" opinion that was held by most "knowledgeable" MMA fans (inlcuding me, for the most part) was slightly exaggerated.
i finally watched the show last night. when somebody sits there and not even a week in bitches about missing his family and girl, you KNOW he's going to find a way out. and like Sera said, he did. pussy.
anyway, lol at the crazy broken elbow guy. i have no doubt Dana will put him on the finale simply because of his heart (or stupidity). guys want to quit for much less (see last season with that calonic asshole) and to see him want to fight. but how the hell does a guy get an injury like that in warmups?
Injuries can happen at anytime...
But it's not like they were just "warming up". They did a few hours of sparring, including stand up, grappling, takedowns, bagwork, etc. Even though it's sparring you know they are all working their asses off trying to prove themselves.
Considering that is the biggest oppurtunity of many of their fighting careers (or their lives even), you know they are all going to want to show dana/coaches/each other what they got.
i wish they would have shown when he did it though. i mean when i think broken elbow i think impact injury. unless he fell on it, or just did something really off the wall it's just an odd injury.
lol at vegan guy too. what a bitch. you're in a house with 15 other guys for a once in a lifetime shot. eat a piece of fucking chicken.
Joint injuries like that are actually pretty common.
When you train like that you regularly get beat up and banged around, so unless you break a bone and it's jutting out of the skin you keep going and think "wow that last shot/submission/fall really hurt".
Then later if it starts acting up you realize it might be something worse than a bruise.
i'm not even going to lol @ joe. a guy that big a pussy as him shouldnt be on the show anymore. PERIOD. "i miss my family.....i miss my girl. i wanna go home". THEN FUCKING QUIT. 2 weeks in and he acts like he's done a tour overseas.
i also had a feeling once Hughes went all religious he was going to announce his retirement. i know he's a religious guy but he never even brought it up his first season. he's in such a really odd state of mind this year it seems. maybe it's just the editing or not but he doesn't seem as in to it.
