I think if Randy's smart he'll retire again.

I think if Randy's smart he'll retire again.
he still has 2 more fights on his contract. i guarantee one will be a sylvia rematch.
Sylvia hasn't done anything to deserve a rematch. He was weak his last few fights, and Couture ruined him.
I'd like to see a rematch just because Sylvia is such a bitch and he makes a great heel, but he really doesn't belong.
this is the UFC that doesn't believe in "rankings" or if people "deserve" one or not. this is the UFC that only seems to care about buyrates. since Couture only has two more fights you can bet your ass Cro-Cop will be #2 and Silvia/Couture 2 will be #3.
Tonight on Observer Live, Loretta Hunt (of the Fight Network and the writer of Randy's bio) stated that he'll face Cro Cop if Cro Cop wins his next fight, and that he wants the fight to be soon due to Mirko's inexperience in the cage. She also said that she's 50 pages into the book right now, and it'll probably be 200-250 pages and in stores within the year. The working title is Randy Couture: the Story of Life's Ultimate Fighter. They also spent this morning pitching a movie of his life to Hollywood agents, and Randy spent five hours signing autographs for fans. She also stated that the Fight Network will be coming to the U.S. sometime in '07, but couldn't specify a date.
I was in Columbus for the 2007 Arnold Classic so I checked out the PPV as well. Pretty fucking cool in person.
By the same logic you could say that Randy hadn't done anything to deserve his title shot either, having lost his last two matches against Liddell.
That said, Randy's will be a better champ and I don't think Syliva should get a rematch, mainly because he sucks. I am sad that Cro Cop will be decapitating Randy instead, however. Perhaps CC and Sylvia can have a #1 conterner's match or something beforehand.
Agreed. The crowd wanted to urinate on Sylvia when he said that.
Gilbert Aldana is believed to be dead - http://www.azfamily.com/news/local/s...g.63ae447.html
It's been confirmed. He wasn't an especially successful fighter, but that sucks for his little boys.
In less depressing news, the card for PRIDE 34 is sounding good:
"PRIDE announced Mark Hunt, Sergey Kharitonov, Josh Barnett, Wanderlei Silva (who was medically suspended by the NSAC until 4/11), Kazuyuki Fujita, Denis Kang, Minowaman (Ikuhisa Minowa), Makoto Takimoto, Zulu, and Butterbean for their PRIDE 34 (4/8 Saitama Super Arena event)."
Hopefully they'll match up Zulu and Butterbean together for a freak match, I'd rather them not waste some of the other fighters' time on them. I'm guessing they won't have a Silva/Hunt rematch since they likely want Wanderlei to start winning again. Minowa/Silva II maybe. Hunt/Barnett II would be ok, but I would rather see Fujita fight Hunt. Two of the toughest chins in the game could make for an entertaining night.
Also, I haven't watched it yet but all of the fights from K-1 HERO's 3/12 show are uploaded here. Gary Goodridge vs Jan Nortje? lol
Anbody watch the IFL on My Network TV last night? It was 2 or 3 hours long... I caught a bit. Seemed to be some pretty good fights. Production values were really good (read: not bodog).
I just watched the HERO's event and holy shit was it excellent. Every fight was worth viewing with some nice highlight finishes in a number of them. Of the 11 main fights, not one made it past the first round. Shibata/Yamamoto was 10 seconds long! Props to Mighty Mo for taking on another fight just a week after he fought Choi Hong Man.
If you can only watch one, make it this one:
btw, for those unfamiliar with K-1, HERO's is their MMA division. They made headlines last year when Sakuraba left PRIDE to sign with K-1 for some fights. So far HERO's has put on some good events with this latest one being arguably the best.
Me and my buddies could play fight in my backyard and it would have better production values than Bodog.
IFL was good. It was a team competition, where I think 3 teams of fighters did a little round robin thing or something.
Here's the ad for it:
I believe this is going to be a recurring show. Not bad for free MMA. edit: yeah, according to that ad this will be on every Monday night on My Network TV.
I loved the IFL preview show on Friday, especially Don Frye's promo, and the first hour of last night's show was good, although I missed the last part of it due to the cable going out and then Raw came on and I switched over. If this show ran from 7-9, I'd catch all of it.
I would watch the IFL...
except it's on when I'm choking people out irl. :(
I've seen two episodes of IFL. Every match I have seen has gone to a decision. Its boring, for lack of a better word.
Another boring-as-fuck Bodog fight was on last night. I'm never watching again.
Some major PRIDE sale news -
This isn't surprising news, but it's still kind of surreal to see it actually happening.Quote:
--Nobuyuki Sakakibara yesterday told several members of the U.S. Pride staff that the company is in the process of being sold to Lorenzo & Frank Fertitta. He said the agreement in principal is done but there are still some minor points to be worked out and the contract is not signed. Sakakibara said he would be leaving the company but that everyone would be keeping their jobs. The company would be operated separately from UFC, but obviously UFC could use any Pride fighter for a big match that it needed.
As long as they keep holding most of the fights in Japan it'll be cool. NSAC rules fucking suck, and I hate to see Pride saddled with them as well.
It's official - Pride was officially sold to the Fertittas! From the Observer site -
Quote:
Pride president Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced at a press conference this evening (very early morning U.S. time) at the Tokyo Roppongi Hills that Dream Stage Entertainment has sold the assets of the Pride Fighting Championships to Lorenzo Fertitta-led ownership group of the UFC.
The new company, called Pride Fighting Championships Worldwide, would operate as a separate company from UFC. Sakakibara publicly announced he was leaving the organization. No new organization president was announced nor were much in the way of details given about the future.
An estimated 2,500 fans attended the outdoor press conference, with Sakakibara on the verge of tears when talking about his involvement ending with the organization. Both he and Nobuhiko Takada, as expected, tried to give the impression it was a merger ("a new relationship as one joint team") as opposed to a buyout.
Dana White, Fertitta and Sakakibara followed hours later with a conference call from Japan for the U.S. media to answer questions on the ownership change.
The battle plan will be to run separate shows and maintain separate staffs. The attempt will be to make the promotions competitive rivals, even though they would no longer be business rivals. No specifics were given, but they only seemed to indicate minimal mixing of talent. There would be a Pride roster of fighters and a UFC roster. There would be matches of champions in each promotion, although when and how often had not been determined. The indication was the mixing of talent would be limited to occasional champion vs. champion matches, perhaps once per year in each weight class, where neither specific title would be at stake. Although White or Fertitta would bring up any names of specific dream fights to the U.S. press, in the Japanese meeting he brought up Fedor Emelianenko vs. Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell vs. Mauricio Shogun Rua, Dan Henderson vs. Anderson Silva, Josh Barnett vs. Andrei Arlovsky and Georges St. Pierre vs. Takanori Gomi as potential matches.
Pride would continue holding matches in the ring and be, as Fertitta called it, a "Japanese-centric" organization while UFC would be an "American-centric" organization. The only significant change talked about would be worldwide unified rules would be put in place, which would be the same rules UFC fights under, with the elimination of knees to the head on a downed fighter, stomps and soccer kicks in Pride, but adding elbows. White said Pride would keep its judging criteria for fights in Japan, but obviously, when running in the U.S., would use the commission-dictated ten-point-must system. Pride will also have weight classes change for worldwide consistency, and will crown champions at 155, 170, 185, 205 and heavyweight. Currently Pride has champions at 161 (Takanori Gomi), 183 (Dan Henderson), 205 (Henderson) and heavyweight (Fedor Emelianenko).
No new television deal, which Pride desperately needs in both Japan and the U.S. to be viable long-term, were announced. White did mention hoping to get back on the Fuji Network. Pride will run shows in the U.S., although no date for a next show was announced. UFC is looking at running shows in Japan.
Fertitta and White indicated Pride heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko is under contract to the new organization.
Dream Stage Entertainment's final event will be on 4/8 from the Saitama Super Arena. They announced a Pride vs. UFC match with Jeff Monson vs. Kazuyuki Fujita today, although that bout had been expected even before the deal was finalized and Monson had gotten out of his UFC contract. Also announced was a Pride pro wrestler type battle with Minowa Man (the new ring name for Ikuhisa Minowa) vs. Don Frye (returning to Pride with the expiration of his K-1 contract). The new organization plans on keeping the current schedule commitment of Pride events.

Fuck. At least they won't be saddled with the ten point must system in Japan, but that still blows.
Bought for less than $70m!
UFC was bought by Dana and his partners for around 2 million.
When Zuffa bought UFC it was in deep shit. MMA is more popular in Japan than in the US and Pride makes a ton of money. The current owners are pretty much being forced to sell because they are yakuza and the Japanese tv stations won't work with them anymore.
UFC 71 has Chuck Liddell defending against Quinton Jackson. I'm guessing it's for the title. They must have been impressed with Rampage's one UFC fight and gave him a shot.
No, Rampage is getting a title shot because he beat Chuck a few years ago.
i know.. i watched it then. i just figured they'd let him climb the ladder a bit before giving him this fight.
If he's not defending the title, what else would he be defending?
Come on, Randy lost twice to Chuck, moved up a weight class, and got a title shot against Sylvia. That alone tells you how the UFC works- they go with the money fights, not with who actually earned the shot.
I think it's perfectly legitimate to give a title shot to the only guy who has beaten Chuck since 1999 besides Randy. They gave Jeremy Horn (the guy who beat Chuck in 99) a title shot even though he was fighting at 185 at the time and it was his first appearance in the UFC since 2000. Besides I can't think of anyone else at 205 that deserves a shot unless they want to bring someone like Silva or Shogun over from Pride.
You're right, Rashad Evans, who's biggest win is over fellow TUF competitor Stephan Bonnar, totally deserves a title shot over someone who has already beaten Chuck Liddell. What could I have possibly been thinking.
give Rampage a title shot later. i'm sick and tired of them using the fucking past to make buyrates instead of an actual ranking system. everythings a fucking grudge match instead of a ranked match.
Rashad is 15-0, been fighting for what.....a year and a half?
Rampage is 26-6, been fighting since a little before 2003?
makes sense to give him a title shot right now.
Rampage is 26-6 because he has fought MUCH tougher competition than Rashad. In the last five years Jackson's only loses have been to former Pride middleweight champion Silva and Shogun, who is probably the number 1 205 lber in the world. He has wins over Matt Lindland, Ricardo Arona, Chuck Liddell, Murilo Bustamante, Kevin Randleman and Igor Vovchanchyn. He's also been fighting since 1999, and for the first year or two he had practically no MMA training outside of high school wrestling.
Here is a list of big name fighters Rahsad Evans (who is actually 10-0 and has been fighting pro for 3 years) has beaten:
i get it. you're a Rampage mark. so you're saying Rashad deserves nothing? anytime somebody comes in from another leage in pro sports, push aside people who have been with the organization longer because somebody else has better marks from elsewhere? that's horsehit. and then after the Rampage/Liddell 2 we get what, fight 3 two months later? then what? we going to pull another Pride guy in again?
His next fight is going to be against Tito Ortiz. If he wins then he will probably get a title shot.
I get it. You're a UFC mark, and like to pretend that Pride, which overall has better fighters, doesn't exist.Quote:

That's where the talent is, so yes, that would be good.Quote:

Edit: You act like you're one of the guys getting "passed over" (which is bullshit, cause like I said no one at 205 really deserves a title shot right now). Personally I want to see the best MMA matches, which means putting the best talent together in the cage/ring. I don't give a fuck which organization anyone was with previously, because I'm an MMA fan, not a UFC fanboy.
This is a great photo.

is that trigg getting blasted?
Fo'sho.
Ouch.
Listen, I'm all for matches set on exciting rivalries and shit and I understand that they need the money matches to sell the PPVs. But I was listening to a UFC ad on the radio the other day and they were going on and on about how the winner of such-and-such match would "go up in the rankings!!" and I knew that meant shit based on the current landscape in the UFC. This shit is getting to be like WWE.
I mean, Diago Sanchez has won a shitload of matches and where's his title shot? It's not really fair to the guys who go out there and kill themselves for a newcomer to waltz in and get a shot.
i wouldn't mind seeing Tito Ortiz fight Rampage and Michael Bisping fight Rashad Evans before the Jackson v Liddell fight goes down. Oh well.. it's a great match-up.. I just hoped they would have let Rampage develop a bit more in the UFC. I'm hoping Jackson beats down Chuck.
I didn't realize how shitty that weight-class was. There are a couple stellar older fighter, a few decent newer guys, and tons of no-namers.
He's on record as saying he isn't ready for a title shot yet.
Rampage has been fighting since 1999. Evans is the newcomer in this situation. Besides, what is the point of taking a guy who you know is really good and having him fight lesser talent? It makes sense to have guys with no major fights work their way up the ladder. You bring in a former Pride middleweight #1 contender and "make him earn his shot" and all you do is make your developing talent look like crap when they get their asses beat.Quote:

UFC isn't the MMA world.
Looks like Igor is coming out of retirement to fight Silva this weekend at PRIDE 34. Not a match I would have asked for but it's got potential.
If that's the case, then he's limiting his own career. He's one of the most talented fighters around and he's won a lot of matches.
I'm starting to see that, yeah.Quote:

Don't forget: TUF starts tonight. (I'll probably forget since I'm old and always do.)
TUF was pretty good last night. BJ and Jens seem to have some legit heat between them, so that should add some drama ala Ortiz/Shamrock.
I got a nice lol when they came back from commercial and they showed how many guys raised their hands when BJ asked them who wanted to be on his team and not Jens'. The whole team selection process was pretty funny from that point on, actually, with BJ and Jens squabbling and Dana just telling them to STFU.
As for the fight, even a blind man could have seen that triangle choke coming, and that dude did nothing at all to try to get out of it. He deserved to lose.
It was a good night.
I loved watching melvin gulliard getting choked out in seconds and then stevenson was totally cool about it, especially after how much of an annoying prick gulliard is. Suck on that.
I dislike the whole "team punishment" style of sitting in your opponents guard and doing crap all trying to throw weak punches and elbows. Yea, dog took the fight on short notice, but still, that style is so crappy to watch. Bleh. Also, I just read that McCulley is a BJJ blackbelt!? You have got to be kidding me.
With that hand raising thing, since Joe Lauzon just beat jens pulver in his ufc "debut" I was excited to see if he'd raise his hand to not be on his team or not. I don't think I'd want to be on the guys team after I just beat him either (yea I know that doesn't mean he can't have things to teach you blah blah blah).
I'm still not convinced about the legitimacy of the jens/bj fued, I suppose we shall see.
Also, what's up with the japanese guy Florian fought? He sometimes seemed like he had some legit skills (good escapes on the ground, getting back to his guard, and the leglock attempt), but most of the time it's like he's super tired or he just isn't that focused. Maybe just diffirent more lacksidasical style. I like him though.
and my lol moments...
lol @ the one guy saying "you are giving 100% in the kitchen"
lol @ melvin gulliard the douche nob
lol @ my wife saying that jens "looks weird and I don't like him" then after I tell her he's a World of Warcraft addict saying "well maybe I will give him another chance"
I loved how bad Melvin got beaten after being sush an arrogant prick- he wouldn't even touch gloves. Then he didn't even land ONE punch on Stevenson. That was so great.
There's a guy in TUF 5 that fought in the UFC already? And beat Jens, no less?Quote:

I'm not, either. I'm sure it's being punched up for TV drama. They saw the numbers Ken/Tito got and decided they needed more "controversy."Quote:

I thought Jens looked like a little nerd wigger.Quote:

I forgot this was on and only caught the last 20 minutes.
the queer DID say the only reason he got into fighting was to promote his resturant. his "mma record" was only 2-1. why they get guys like this on the show is beyond me.
dana summed it up pretty well saying they all have "little guy syndrome". most of them act like the ignorant pricks i always wanted to kick the shit out of in high school (or frat jocks).
i still can't believe they let that one guy in at 170+ lbs. i know he was probably 155 at casting but they need to check this shit out before filming. i'm sure somebody with a lot more dedication would enjoy that spot a lot more. lol at crying about his weight like a woman.
you can pretty much guess the outcome of the season with the interviews joe rogan gave the two coaches during fight night. my opinion of BJ hasn't changed, but i never knew jans was such a tool... he surprised me though when he was coaching... he seemed like he was doing an excellent job.
Looks like Nog is the next to move to the UFC. I'm not real thrilled but at least they're getting a respectable roster of top HWs. Plus, a rematch with CroCop is a lot more likely now.
UFC 69 was pretty good, GSP/Serra especially. I'm glad I never put money on these fights, you just never know what'll happen. I don't see Serra holding this belt for long, though.
Kaneda - no doubt. I wouldn't have thought that gsp/serra or sanchez/koschek would've turned out how they did.
Diego/Josh sucked. The crowd booing was totally warranted- both guys were too scared of each other to do anything. The fight totally didn't live up to the hype. Diego deserved to lose.
Considering how Matt Serra whipped GSP's ass last night and that Diego turned into a complete pussy in his respective match, I guess you never can know 100% what the outcome of any fight will be.
Just watched PRIDE 34. Even with one of their least interesting cards in ages it was still a better show than last night's UFC.
Sokoudjou looks to be the next big thing. He fucking rocked Arona like it was nothing.
Aoki was also excellent, executing more crazy acrobatics to win in record time.
Frye took like 50 unblocked shots to the jaw and wouldn't go down, but I think that says more about Thompson's poor stamina than anything. Their Takayama moment was pretty funny.
So five out of nine of the fights in this weekend's UFC ended in decision (yawn), while eight out of eight (100%) of the Pride fights ended in the first round. Holy crap. (Granted, Pride's first round is longer than UFC's--but still!)
Musta been a short card for Pride.
EDIT: Just saw the Don Frye v James Thompson fight. Nice! How did Don not get knocked out? And how did the ref stand there and watch Don get pulverized standing up? Thompson might not have been doing much damage, but Don wasn't defending. Still awesome!
The best fight on either card was a decision (Huerta/Garcia). There's nothing wrong with a decision if the fighters are going all out the whole time. Some of the "exciting" first round finishes on the Pride card were terrible. Butterbean/Zuluzhino? Get these two worthless fat asses off my TV. And Thompson has no technique or cardio and only beat Frye (who is way past his prime, and was never that good to begin with) because he's gigantic. Also Fujita/Monson as a main event? Fuck off, Pride.
I'm the first to admit that Pride has more talented fighters but this was the most talent deprived Pride event of all time. I'd rather see exciting decisions between good fighters than shitty first round finishes from worthless fighters.
Well, I missed the UFC this weekend, but I fully assumed GSP was going to smoke Matt Serra. What the hell happened? Was it close? Did GSP come out Sunday and say "Well, I was fighting injured..." I didn't see this coming.
Cro Cop, Michael Bisping, and Andrei Arlovski are all on the next UFC PPV.
Nightmare/Koschek was as bad as Arlovsky/Sylvia III (where they stood around pawing at each other). Koschek was the winner but I didn't see any heart and, considering all the talk these jokers did, neither came through when it counted. Koschek gets bragging rights for a single takedown and then holding on? What a tough-guy. Good for the Toyota Center booing them. My living room boo-ed them throughout the 2nd and 3rd rounds (and especially Koschek's post-fight attitude).
Watching Serra (one of my all-time favorite characters based solely on TUF and his thoughts on GSP/Hughes II - "I know I get to fight the winner, but if you're asking me who I'd rather fight, I guess I'd say that GSP's an awesome fighter and I'd like him to win, but Matt Hughes is a dick.") v. GSP live on PPV was really, really awesome (why didn't I put money down!?!?!), especially after Serra rocked GSP and we all jumped from our seats and screamed for blood. Looking back on it, us jumping up and down, yelling for Matt to finish the fight...wow. Fun stuff.
The lightweight division is looking better and better. Good fights with guys that *want* to rumble, plenty of variety in styles and lots of wars. Speed, technique, endurance...these guys are way more fun to watch than only a handful of heavyweights (CroCop, Nogueira) and light heavies (Tito, Chuck - can't wait for him to fall!).
I agree that a decision fight can be as exciting as a good knockout/submission, but the overwhelming majority of them tend not to be. I think the judging criteria of UFC make boring decisions even more likely.
As well, Josh Koscheck makes decisions boring. I think when a wrestler is involved, a three round decision is the worst possible scenario for the audience.
this is absurd. it takes two to make a fight boring and with the shit Diego tried to start at weigh-in's i hold him more accountable (which even though i had no respect for him before, i have negative respect for him now). he landed what? 1 punch the whole 3 rounds? true Koscheck didn't bring his excitment game, because he didn't have to. trust me (as if his last fights weren't enough) he has the ability to be exciting. i watched him all 4 years collegiate wrestle when we were both at the Boro and he made that sport exciting.
i've also heard Tito is supposed to fight Rashad? any truth to this?
I can get behind that. I fucking hate the overwhelming majority of wrestlers in MMA. Laying in someone's guard and throwing the occasional weak punch or elbow is not fighting. A lot of them seem to think that the goal of MMA is to dry hump your opponent as much as possible.
I don't think the judging criteria is as responsible for boring decisions nearly as much as the cage. The cage is a wrestler's best friend. To begin with it makes takedowns easier. But even worse, being mashed up against the fence makes working off your back for subs and sweeps a whole shitload more difficult. In Pride when guys get too near the ropes the fight is reset in the middle, where guys with good jiu jitsu actually have a chance to use their skills. I really don't like the cage.
It's not absurd. Kos is a boring motherfucker. I really don't give a shit what he did as a wrestler. MMA is not wrestling. I admit he has a ton of talent but that doesn't make him any less boring. He has had one fight where I thought he might be turning it around (vs. Goulet) but he's regressed since then. I don't want to see him fight anymore.
They're supposed to fight at UFC 71 or 72.Quote:
i've also heard Tito is supposed to fight Rashad? any truth to this?
Cool. Free PPV action.
Woah.
kid finds the best pics.
the dana/tito "boxing match" is on Spike tonight at 11 btw. i predict it to be really queer. they hype it up like they have a legitimate bad streak between them. like dole says, it's almost as bad as the WWE. we're supposed to forget that Dana talked up Tito his last couple fights "yeah he fucked me over by not fighting Liddel the first time but he's grown up....yadda yadda" and that if Dana legitimately didn't like him he wouldn't feature him so much in marketing?
this is like some johnny come lately McMahon/Austin shit.
Anyone see today's Bodog event?
Fedor armbarred Lindland in just under 3 minutes. Christ that guy is good.
I was just doing some reading, and it turns out that Jens went to highschool at a school which was quite literally a 2 minute drive on the same road from where I live. Interesting.

From Tito Ortiz re: the dana/tito "sparring match":
"Dana White has once again taken the low road and decided to try to damage my reputation and credibility in a public forum. During an appearance on Spike TV on April 12th White accused me of failure to show up for a fight we had originally scheduled for March 24th. He did so at the end of the program and gave me no opportunity to respond or tell the real story, which is simply this: White was fully informed well in advance of March 24th that I would not fight without a contract, which White refused to sign. Fighting is my livelihood and jeopardizing my body without a full understanding of conditions, doesn't make any sense. No professional fighter will go into a match without a contract. Ive struggled to get respect and dignity for my profession and I do it in the way I lead my life as a fighter and as a human being. Danas attitude not only disrespects me, but all fighters. I am taking this stand just not for this one incident, but for all future champions. I want to reiterate: I am ready to settle my differences with Dana White in any fighting forum we can agree on, but only if there is a signed contract that stipulates where the money is going, whether it is to charity or to the fighters doesnt matter as much as having a definitive agreement.
Until Dana White is ready to fight me on a professional basis, I strongly urge him to keep his mouth shut.
WWE booshit style hype or truth?
Caught last week's episode of TUF last night. Holy shit, Jens' team are a bunch of crybaby fags.
Which is why I'm rooting for BJ's.
That...doesn't look right.
Anyways, they should take away the ability of the coaches/winning team picking the fights. It often means one team can set up a bunch of mismatches which, if the whole point of TUF is to get guys prepped for the bigs, is counter-productive.
There should be a panel (current champs, former stars, even the contestants themselves) that decides which matches will take place, with an eye on competitiveness.
Also, Go Team Penn.
BJ's team is a bunch of tools too...
also i'm assuring BJs team another loss tonight ;) They might not even win one fight.
Diaz's brother annoys the hell outta me. he acted like a fucking middle school kid when he made his threats. fluffing himself up like a fucking peacock. he sounds like he has down syndrome as well.
Yeah, he was good in his fight but Nate Diaz is an annoying, humorless asshole.
big surprise there.. nick is a class guy :p
He also made himself look ridiculous tagging everything with 209 and Stockton/Lodi (which is a total shit-hole in California) after saying everyone should act like professional fighters when people were running around in thongs.
Dana White said it was the best fight he's seen on TUF.. it was good, but I don't know about that.
What fight was he watching? :wtf:
Yeah, I didn't get that shit either. Dana actually said "This was the best fight we've had in all 5 seasons of this show!"
Dana must be on some real fine crack.
Was a pretty good fight IMO.
Pace was pushed the entire time, lots of takedown attempts and reversals. Action was quick paced on the ground with lots o' submission attempts.
Seemed like Emererson gassed out pretty good after the first round though.
Conditioning is the key to victory!
i agree the fight was pretty good, but there's been plenty of other ones that were better so for Dana to say what he did was a bit off. Diaz seemed gassed as well. his pounding before the last submission clinic was about as unenergized and tired as it can get. the only reason he sunk that choke in was because Emmerson was tired. he seemed pretty able to defend everything (or at least withstand it) before that and you could tell his body just gave up when that choke came.
what the hell is with them suddenly touting Hill as the next great superstar? i thought that was a bit rediculous.
Between those guys running around in thongs and the Gabe colonic sub-plot, I felt dirty by the end of this and want my non-gay fighting show back.:(
Gabe seriously never needed to be on the show. like i said earlier, it's fucking stupid that they let a guy that's 20+ pounds over the weight limit on the show. don't they have standby's or anything?
