 The running joke at my house since Cro Cop fell the same way was that he got turned into a human puddle. It is really fitting for Chuck and matches his nickname, Chuck "the puddle" Liddell.

In related MMA news, I went to NAGA Milwaukee yesterday. Was absolutely huge. They were in a tiny venue (we've held grappling tourneys there before) and they were only running 10, instead of their 12 announced rings.
I got there at 8am and stood in line for over an hour to get to the door to register (prereg and register were stuck in the same freaking line), they expected my first match to be up at 2pm, at 4pm the person who was running my ring "hoped" my division would be up by 6pm. They had no clue when they'd get to my second divison (I'm guessing 9ish).
I left at 4 and said fuck it.
That is the last NAGA I'll go to.
Same here. It allowed us to take a lot of bets against Jackson, however, especially since we were giving out even odds after Chuck vaulted up from -200 to -300 before the fight. How he became a bigger favorite is beyond me.
And a big shout out to Terry Martin who is representing Maywood, IL, right by where I grew up. He looks like a little Mike Tyson.
News on the UFC/PRIDE deal -I'm disappointed that they aren't going to be run as separate groups, but I'm not surprised by it. I figured they'd just use the PRIDE deal as a way to secure UFC dream matches, and then offset the cost of the purchase by the PPV buys of those fights, along with money made off the PRIDE tape library.Quote:
Dana White confirmed at the press conference after UFC's PPV the Josh Gross article from Thursday that Lorenzo & Frank Fertitta's purchase of the Pride Fighting Championships officially went through late Thursday.
White, who had been out of the country the past several weeks, said working on getting the top fighters from Pride into the UFC mix and how things would be handled would be his major priority in between the various shows over the next ten days.
He said to expect major announcements at that time. Originally, when the press conference was held in Japan, it was announced Pride and UFC would be kept as separate entities with their own basic flavor, Pride in the ring and UFC in the cage. They would maintain their individual champions but once a year there would be Super Bowl matches.
That plan has changed, as White is working on bringing all of the Pride major names to the U.S. as part of UFC. Besides the Quinton Jackson vs. Dan Henderson match, he also talked about finally making the Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva match. No date is scheduled for either match but preliminary talk was that one or the other could take place in September in London, England or Anaheim, California.
...and now it seems like they'll make the final decision about PRIDE being run as its own entity in two weeks. Well, hopefully that happens in some way. I at least want to see one UFC-run PRIDE show.
Here's some news about the Coliseum show - Ken Shamrock is named as a potential opponent for Royce Gracie, since Sakuraba hasn't been cleared, and they've done tests on him all weekend. So far, he's failed two EKG tests, and it should be known by Tuesday whether or not he can fight.
so they're basically doing what the WWE did when they bought WCW. great *rolls eyes*
I don't see how bringing Pride fighters into the Octagon = bad for MMA. Seriously. Can someone explain the eye-rolling? :blank:
Why are you dissapointed by it?
In competitive sports it's better (for the viewer) generally if you have one big orginization that has all of the top talent so you can see the best matches.
The main thing they need to incorporate from Pride is the fighters intros. I like when they hype the fighters up with pyrotechnics and huge tv screens and dance numbers as they come down the ramp.
The cage isn't perfect, but there were problems with the ring too.
Also - I would like to see them adopt the card system from Pride as well.
i would as well, but like i'm trying to say it seems like this deal will only have the UFC assimilate Pride's top talent and that's it. bye bye anything that ever resembled Pride. which is exactly why i likened it to the WWE/WCW deal (and we see how that's turning out).
On Friday I was mock-sparing with one of my bosses at work who is in to karate and jiu-jitzu. I ended up wrestling him down to the ground pretty easily and he was impressed. He said I should think about joining him and a couple of other guys around the office who are in to MMA training as a way to workout and have some fun.
Not sure I want to do it. I've always been good at wrestling but my high school never had any extra-curricular activities so I didn't get to sign up for a team or anything (they were on strike or something, and had to go back to work so no extra-curricular activities was their payback I guess).
I don't want to do just karate and weird shit like standing on one leg with my other legs over my head. That shit just seems pointless. Plus he's been doing it for months now and I, a man who hasn't done anything but maybe the occassional bar brawl here and there, was able to pin him down. Maybe his gym sucks.
I thought they used to do that shit in UFC but they stopped to help separate themselves from the spectacle of pro wrestling. I kind of agree with you. They might as well make everything fun for the fans in the crowd and build everything up as much as they can.
Not really. WWE booked WCW guys to lose and look like idiots. Nobody's booking UFC fights. So if the PRIDE guys come in and kick the shit out of the guys in UFC then it's fair game anyway, since they obviously couldn't cut the mustard.
Unless Dana White distracts the referee and Mike Goldberg slips in the octagon and hits Michael Bisping with a steel folding chair during his match with Tito Ortiz there's no reason to be concerned.
Karate and Jiu Jitsu is a weird combination for a school (although I know a few legit places that teach both). Unless he's doing Japanese Ju Jitsu, in which case he's very likely not learning MMA (and there is a good chance he is learning total bullshit). If he is learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (or JJJ through a school that isn't crap, although they tend to be few and far between) and you were able to pin him down with no training, there are a few possibilities: you are twice his size, he claims to train but really shows up once a month or so, he is lying altogether about training, or his gym is terrible.
I'm not sure exactly what they teach to be honest. I know jiu jitsu is one (I'm pretty sure its brazilian, since it's all the rage nowadays). This guy seems like the kind of guy that would talk a big game but not bring it. He's actually taller than me but I'm thicker than he is (he's kind of lanky).
I have very limited amateur wrestling knowledge. I know enough about the balance and weight limitations of myself to be pretty good but I assume I'd be down in five seconds with someone who had some real experience.
I'm going to assume he's not training as hard as he says he is.
If I were training I'd wanna do a mix of BJJ, Judo, and Muay Thai.
Currently I practice Laziness, FOGH (fear of getting hit), and Watching Ninja Turtles.
Lots of place say they are teaching "MMA" now when they are really the same old crap karate place from last year, they just went to one seminar or picked up a few BJJ books.
Yeah, Karo rocks :) Peep dis.
Karo has been training judo his entire life and has spent years adapting it to use without a gi. I don't want to discourage you from training judo because judo is fucking awesome but if you want to fight I would recommend focusing on wrestling for stand up grappling. It is more immediately applicable to MMA.
Absolutely agree, it's on the list but there are way too many things I need to worry about first. This is a lifetime/lifestyle commitment, and I have no delusions of ever seriously competing, but it is something I'd like to learn, much like how I'd like to learn many languages in my lifetime.
By the way, just saw Rampage interviewed on ESPN and what a spokesman for the sport he can be. It's obvious that will all the ESPN coverage, Entourage appearances, and increased celebrity sightings (though guys like Shaq have been attending for a while now) at PPV events, that UFC/MMA is on the cusp of mainstream acceptance.
And also...
In 1995, as the current Shooto welterweight champion, Nakai was selected by the Shooto Commission to represent Shooto in the Vale Tudo tournament Vale Tudo Japan 1995. His first opponent was Gerard Gordeau, a Dutch Savate fighter. Gordeau illegally eye-gouged Nakai during their fight, causing Nakai to lose vision in his right eye. Despite the eye injury, Nakai proceeded to defeat Gordeau by heel hook in the fourth round. The next fights, on the same night he fought with a bandage on his eye. In his second bout, Nakai defeated the American fighter Craig Pittman by armbar, and in the third and final bout, he lost to the Brazilian jiu-jitsuka Rickson Gracie by rear naked choke at 6:22 of the first round.
Yuki Nakai became permanently blind in his right eye due to Gerard Gordeau's illegal tactics. For years he kept his blindness a secret to protect the reputation of Vale Tudo. The injury forced Nakai to retire from mixed martial arts competition, but impressed with Rickson Gracie's technique, he took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he currently holds a black belt and is the president of the Japanese Confederation of Jiu-Jitsu.
Hardass IMO.
Nakai is the man. When I saw Choke (the documentary about Rickson and that tournament in particular) I was rooting for Nakai even though I knew before I watched it that Rickson won the tournament.
Edit: Gordeau is a total piece of shit. He bit Royce's ear in their match in UFC 1. They had like three fucking rules at that point and he couldn't even abide by those.
Spike TV TUF fighter, Gabe Ruediger, has been barred from fighting in this Saturday's K-1/Pro Elite show. Ruediger was released from his UFC contract to pursue fighting elsewhere. He recently signed with the K-1 where he was to face Katsuhiko Nagata (2-1). He was dropped from fighting on the card by California State Athletic Commissioner, Armando Garcia, who had recently watched Ruediger on The Ultimate Fighter TV show. Garcia cited the show in determining that Ruediger was "mentally unfit to fight". On the show Ruediger seemed to have suffered a mental breakdown after unsuccessfuly making the 155lbs. weight limit. This fight would have been at 161lbs. It is unclear if Ruediger will be able to fight in California if he is not cleared by a mental health specialist.
Damn.
How did Gabe have a UFC contract in the first place?
From Gabe re: the above stuff (in a huge thread about it on mma.tv)
I havent been here in some time. An attorney and friend of mine told me about this particular thread. I cant say much about the situation, but I am not happy about it.
I trained hard for this fight. My weight last night was 169(4 pounds below the weight I started cutting from on the show), with another 3 days until weigh ins. I am extremely disappointed that I will not be fighting. In this fight I wasnt concerned about winning or losing(of course I felt I was going to win, and expected to win), just fighting. Now I dont even get to do that.
You can say what you want about me. You can ridicule me and make your little gifs and pictures(I thought some of them were actually really funny), but this situation goes well beyond the show.
Once again, I cant talk about what is happening, but Im not going to allow this to just be.
Eh, Gabe was a tool on TUF, but if he was in shape for this fight it wasn't fair to cut him.
But once again, how did Gabe have a UFC contract to get released from in the first place? He got kicked off the show.
where does it say he had one?
*edit* n/m.......who knows. maybe everyone that is on the show gets a "developmental" type of deal? a lot of the losers end up on ppv's and fight nights eventually. but even if that IS the case, who in their right mind would give HIM one?
in case you guys ever want to order anything from mmawarehouse.com, i give them a BIG thumbs up. ordered some shirts on the 27th. with normal ground shipping i got them today. one was too small so i requested an RMA/exchange at 5pm today right after work. just got a reply back at 5:49 with the return info.
I think it's a well paying contract that they are fighting for.
What was the deal with Gray hardly throwing any punches on the ground last night... and, god, Wang should have taken his first fight to the ground, that guy fell over when Gray grabbed his ankle.
Also.. the drama in this show is getting out of hand... Nate goes to BJ's team next episode... WTF?
Yeah, it's a six figure contract they're fighting for. A guy gets paid around a grand for his first fight in the UFC. Winning TUF gets you a lot more money.
Yeah, that was really annyoing. I guess he's still in wrestler mode.Quote:

I agree that UFC needs to take some of the better parts of Pride into their own shows, especially the entrances, which usually looked incredible. CroCop's debut in the UFC actually seemed somewhat disappointing since they didn't have a huge stage, amassive, tons of lights and video screens. Then he entered the octogan for his first UFC fight and all of my feelings of disappointment left.
As for why I'm disappointed that they won't (or at least, haven't confirmed) that Pride shows be run, it's mainly just because I'd like to see the name stay alive. It seems like Pride's future is still in doubt though due to DSE's lack of organization, so I've still got some hope that they'll at least run one Pride show. I'd also like to see how well a Zuffa-run Pride show compares to the DSE-run ones.
Sakuraba/Royce Gracie rematch in a few hours, for the half dozen people that care.
I'm more interested in Mighty Mo/Choi Mu Bae myself, but we'll see what happens.
I want to see Brock do the F5.
Brock Lock>F5
i hope brock gets killed. (literally).
His sword tattoo isn't THAT bad.
How has he been a hack? He's learned athletic skills very quickly, whether it's pro wrestling, pro football, and seemingly MMA, as he just won his first shoot fight in about a minute.
LOL.
No doubt.
Brocks opponent was something like 2-5 and apparently he has very little MMA base, he is mostly just a Judo BB and he was a last minute replacement.
Brock was also heavier and much more muscled, which leads me to believe he was quite a bit stronger as well.
I like me some Brock, but I'm sorry, his chest tat looks like a cock and is horrible.
Still, a minute is pretty fast.
Apparently dogs face looked pretty beat up the fight, but they sure didn't look like much to me, not to mention he really wasn't making much effort to escape the mount.
Did anyone catch that EliteXC or whatever it is called on Showtime last night? I though the first one a couple months ago was pretty good but last night it sucked. It was only an hour long, it appeared to be following Pride with a ring instead of a cage and no head elbows on the ground. The 2 fights plus the highlights of another were pretty lame. I'm not even sure why they even had it on. I hope the next one is more like the first one.
Here's Brock's debut fight - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gaNZUq0jm4
Brock looked pretty good, especially with how he was controlling Kim on the ground. I'm glad that ring announcer mentioned his WWE Title wins, that the announcers didn't shy away from his pro wrestling past, and even mocked those who got on Brock's case for taking up MMA as a "former pro wrestler". Mauro Renallo mentioning Brock as possibly being "THE NEXT BIG THING" in MMA got a smile out of me, and it was fitting for him to proclaim it as he's a former pro wrestling commentator. It almost made me forget about him literally crying about his love for Bas Rutten while on a radio show.
starting at 8pm on Versus is what i'm assuming is a build up show and then the first episode of WXC.
Brock's eyes are doing some crazy Sloth shit. they both look outwards.
I watched the WEC show on the VS. Network last night, well, I watched most of it. It was pretty dang good from what I saw. I am looking forward to their next show.
I also watched the first episode of the reality show about the Tapout guys...which I assumed I would want to kill myself after watching two minutes of it. And it was surprisingly not that bad at all, I ended up watching the entire episode and I'll watch it again if I catch it.
Crazy.
i was REALLY impressed with their one champ Urijah (or however you spell it). i liked when he got that choke in without hooking the guy first. i never understood why more guys don't do that. they said he was 3-1 before the belt and after last night has won 19 in a row. they also said there were 5 guys lined up and none of them wanted the fight. who the hell doesn't take a title fight!? my buddy today said the UFC owns WEC. he said they'rew promoting it on their site (i haven't looked yet).
if they would get rid of Mister Washup on announce i would have no problems with the show.
wtf, someone made a shirt of that?
Urijah Faber runs Ultimate Fitness here in Sacramento. I've never been there, but a friend of mine works out there and really thinks it's a great gym.
After watching that fight I have to say even 1 minute of ring time with that crappy asian guy isn't impressive. It looked like the asian guy had absolutely no idea what he was up to. Like someone found him selling hot dogs in the stands and shoved him out in to the ring.
For those in the PNW, Rampage will be at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe July 14.
I have to say, even though he lost to Nate, Corey was far more impressive in the ring this time. I mean, the guy completely sucked in his first fight and should have lost the decision, hands-down. He wasn't aggressive at all and just stood there doing nothing. But I guess winning (as tainted as it was) gave him some confidence, as he was going right after Nate, tossing him around and actually had him in a little bit of trouble at one point when he was on top raining down some hammerfists. That said, his inexperience finally cost him as he walked right into that triangle choke.
The second fight was great. Manny's a real fucking firecracker in the ring but both guys did a great job.
He just ran into a world class wrestler in Brock. I don't care how good you are at Judo throws, a well trained athlete in Grecko Roman wrestling will own you 99% of the time.
Many people might not respect television wrestlers, but there are quite a few with out there, that had legit wrestling careers outside the WWE. One of the first UFC champs, Dan Severn (UFC 5), defeated another Judo expert named Oleg Taktarov.
I'd like to see him catch a Crocop kick.
Brock didn't do anything in that fight except catch a sloppy half-assed kick attempt and then throw all of his weight onto the guy on the ground until he quit. Wait until he takes on legitimate competition before you say Greco-Roman wins 99% of the time. Or just watch at least two recent UFC PPVs.
I agree: lol. Lesnar isn't even a Greco Roman wrestler. He was a collegiate wrestler that went right into the WWE after college. College wrestlers practice folkstyle, not Greco Roman wrestling.
Judo doesn't even have kicks.
If you're going to post about something, you should at least have some idea what you're talking about. Coleman specializes in freestyle, not Greco Roman, wrestling, and hasn't been a top MMA competitor in years. Also he has been subbed twice in the last three years by the best fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, who was originally trained in Judo and Sambo before concentrating on MMA.
Fedor also has a recent submission win over Matt Lindland, who is an Olympic silver medalist in Greco-Roman Wrestling.
If you wanted to talk up Greco Roman, you really should have brought up Dan Henderson and Randy Couture (actual former Greco Roman wrestlers who are currently very successful in MMA), not fucking Mark Coleman and Brock Lesnar.
If you haven't watched MMA in ten years you might as well just stay out of this thread.
Greco-Roman and freestyle are pretty much the same, except Free style allows leg takedowns and it has a different scoring system.
Coleman is now an old man, as is Gracie.
Lesner beat a Judo expert, nuff said.
Attacking the legs is one of the primary methods for achieving a takedown in freestyle. That one simple rule change makes the two sports very different.
Also, Brock did neither freestyle nor Greco-Roman wrestling. As I said, US collegiate wrestlers practice folkstyle wrestling.
He's younger than current UFC heavyweight champ, Randy Couture (who, as I said above, actually was a Greco Roman wrestler).Quote:
Coleman is now an old man, as is Gracie.
And you're the one who brought him up as some paragon of Greco Roman wrestling, despite the fact that he isn't primarily a Greco Roman wrestler and he hasn't been relevant to the MMA world in years (unless you count his fluke injury victory over Shogun).
A judo expert with a 2-6 professional mixed martial arts record. What an accomplishment.Quote:
Lesner beat a Judo expert, nuff said.
How about judoka Kazuhiro Nakamura's win over two time NCAA champion wrestler and Coleman protege Kevin Randleman in Pride in 2005? I thought wrestling always beat judo.
Edit: Also, as long as we're using individual fights and fighters to judge entire styles: Chuck Liddell beat Randy Couture twice. Rampage beat Liddell twice. Wanderlei Silva beat Rampage twice. Randy was a a two time NCAA D-I finalist and three time alternate for the US Olympic Greco Roman team. Chuck was an accomplished D-I wrestler in college, but was never on Randy's level in wrestling. Rampage only wrestled in high school. Silva didn't wrestle competitively at all. Clearly the less wrestling you do, the better fighter you are.
Freestyle and Folkstyle are both based off of Greco-Roman Wrestling. Freestyle and Folkstyle allow leg takedowns and more opportunities to score from the ground, thru reversals.
Namewise, I'm wrong in calling his background Greco-Roman. Still, Freestyle and Folkstyle are the modern versions of it.
I brought him up, not for the current MMA, but back at a time when you had pure styles going head to head. Judo with "The Iron Bear", striking with "Tank Abbott", Jiu-Jitsu with "Gracie" and Greco-Roman style with Severn and Coleman.Quote:
And you're the one who brought him up as some paragon of Greco Roman wrestling, despite the fact that he isn't primarily a Greco Roman wrestler and he hasn't been relevant to the MMA world in years (unless you count his fluke injury victory over Shogun).
Yeah, because Judo alone, isn't going to win much with the current style of MMA.Quote:

Yeah, he(Kazuhiro) also lost to a self proclaimed professional wrestler.:lol:Quote:

I never said always, I said 99% of the time. Big difference!
What do any of these people have to do with Judo?Quote:

Tommy Morrison defeats mma expert!
http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/more/06/1...rrison_mma.jpg
Wow, that's so amazing! An "MMA" bout with no ground fighting, kicks, knees or elbow strikes of any kind? Wow, what an amazing "MMA" victory!
BTW, does he still have HIV? Depending on the day of the week he's either testing postive or negative.
So, fight night tomorrow and the UFC from Ireland on Saturday. I guess the pay-per-view starts at noon pacific time, which sucks.(I was trying to use it as an excuse to not go to another party that night) The Franklin fight should be good, and even no-namer fights have a good potential to be interesting, so I'm all for this flooding of events (Four in a month's span)
Nothing alone is going to win much with the current style of MMA. Which is why Brock went here to train instead of just hopping in the ring with only his wrestling background.
He became a pro wrestler in Japan for a time after getting suspended from the UFC for steroids (he was UFC heavyweight champ at the time). Barnett also has like 50 lbs Nakamura.Quote:

Nothing, I just posted it to show that wrestling sucks.Quote:
What do any of these people have to do with Judo?
Edit: I'm gonna break down the judo vs. wrestling thing real simple like. MMA is fought with minimal clothing: spandex or board shorts. Wrestlers wear spandex singlets. Judoka wear heavy gis. In spandex a wrestler should usually beat a judoka of similar size, talent, athletic ability and experience. In gis the judoka will have the edge. Hell not too long ago I said this:
But not everyone trains for MMA, and MMA is not the be all and end all of martial arts. Saying "wrestling beats judo 99% of the time" is absurd. Put the judoka and the wrestler in winter coats or even sweatshirts and you'll likely see the wrestler get slammed.
Man, I love free MMA on tv.
That WEC show a couple weeks ago, now the UFC fight night last night. Both were great shows and enjoyable as heck.
In other news, I'll be visiting TN in a couple weeks and I'll be stopping by five diffirent MMA schools to train with their guys, so that will be a ton of fun.
Fight Night Live was great.
I thought that spanish kid that fought Abe Lincolin was an arrogant asshole during his pre-fight interview until I saw how amazing he was in the ring. If you can back your shit up, you can talk the talk, I guess.
Main event was really good. It was funny that Fisher kicked so much ass yet he was the one that walked away with his face totally fucked up. Stout must have no power whatsoever in his punches.
I meant Stout had no power, as he was landing enough punches to fuck up Fisher's face as badly as he did but didn't even come close to KO-ing him.
However, I didn't hear that part of the show you mentioned where they said Fisher had scar tissue issues...I guess that's what was making his face swell and bleed so badly.
Thiago Tavares put on an amazing fight.
I love watching bjj guys work. Not lame slow GNP, or just holding the person in your guard till you're stood up.
Learn guard passes. Learn sweeps. Learn subs and escapes!
The guard is not dead in mma if you know how to use it.
Also, scar tissue beats judo 90% of the time!
That's my point. Judo is at a disadvantage to wrestling, because of the current rules of the MMA. I'm not trying to say that Judo is weaker than wrestling outside the MMA at all, but inside the octagon it is.
I'm in no way, shape or form, trying to slam Judo. But without the Gi, guys that have trained using it their whole life, are now at a handicap.
Unofficial word is a UFC event in September will feature these three potentially great fights:
crocop v. tim sylvia
quinton jackson v. dan henderson
chuck liddell v. wanderlei silva
The crocop/sylvia and liddell/wanderlei fights I've wanted to see for a long time. I think they should give jackson a few more mediocre matches before they have him defend against henderson.
Re: Rampage going up against Henderson.
Yeah, I don't know how good it would be for the UFC if every championship fight is a Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny. That only works for a year or two until you're out of Ultimate matchups. But it seems like that fight is happening no matter what.
If this is going to be an actual card, I'm starting to save right now for tix to Vegas in October.
You gotta believe CroCop is going to demolish the Maine-iac. And an Iceman/Wanderlei match would be AWESOME.
Anyone catch TUF tonight? Oy, props to Manny for another upset, but could it be any more boring? He flipped into lead blanket mode and rode that fight out.
I agree. I felt like I was watching one of the early UFC events [Gracie-Shamrock era] where all they did was stay on the ground for fifteen minutes doing nothing. I was disappointed by Lauzon's performance as well as Gamburyan's. Lauzon for not acting sooner and Gamburyan for basically laying and praying [I did like that standing sweep take down though]. Very boring indeed.
The Diaz-Maynard fight was better but Maynard seemed to do exactly what he did against Melendez. Charge in, take down and punch without thinking which caused him to gas. I enjoyed Diaz's constant submission attempts which eventually paid off. I was predicting Diaz would win because Maynard is still in wrestler mode.
The finale should be pretty good. I see Diaz winning due to his better jiu-jitsu skills.
I was disappointed to see Lauzon (my fav on the show) lose. I think he's got a better skill-set than Manny and honestly believe he'd win the majority of 10 fights with him.
Okami had Franklin in the 3rd but you have to credit Rich for keeping his cool and getting out of trouble. Okami gave away the first two rounds from near-complete inactivity, though. It was a disappointing main event but more than made up for by Griffin-Guida.
the usual place i go to normally draws a pretty good crowd. having the show at an odd time (and no title fights) really showed how fairweather fans can be. my group were the only people there for the fights.
We Tivo'd the HD version and watched it at the regular time last night. It looked pretty impressive. The two headliner fights weren't very exciting, just doing whatever it takes to shut down their opponent's game, like Koscheck v Diego or any Tim Sylvia fight. I went 6-0 on picking the winner of each fight. The Guida v Tyson Griffin fight was the obvious standout. Overall the free Fight-Night thing was a way better event.
im pretty excited to see the upcoming Koscheck/St Pierre fight as well as Rashad/Ortiz.
Last week there was two eps of the ultimate fighter on in a row.
I had no idea either and missed the second one too.
I don't remember them saying anything about it on commercials or anything the week before or the week it happened either. -_-
