Very good month. I actually had to sacrifice a lot of good stuff this month in trying to squeeze the high profile titles into 10 choices. Never the less, hopefully the game you liked most is represented --but if not, post about what you felt was better.

And for posterity's sake, from here on out Xbox Live Arcade titles officially do not count as eligible, so as much fun as Doom or Lumines may be, please disregard them in your consideration.

My vote so far would definitely go to Gears of War, but I'm going to withhold until I can at least play through FFXII and Twilight Princess.

You closed my poll and basically put the same one up, just with more "I don't play video games" choices. But all joking (or not really) aside, the 360 is turning into quite the beast.

Wanted to vote Guitar Hero II, but FFXII is too great of a title not to select.

But yeah, this month kicked a ton of ass. Between GoW, Zelda, EBA, and FFXII, I've spent at least 200% more time on gaming this month than any in recent memory.

Gears for sure - GH2 is a lot of fun but GoW is an all-new experience.

I'm actually a little tired of Viva Pinata, having gotten 99% of all of the pinatas. I wont be sick of Gears of War for a long time though.

Wow, good month for games, but Gears of War blows them all away.

Would it be a surprise if I voted GoW? I mean, as far as I know, it is the only game you can chainsaw someone in half with a chainsaw bayonette, the only one worth playing at least.

Had to vote FFXII since I haven't played GoW, when I finally get GoW, no matter what month it is, that'll probably be the GoTM again.

Hmm.... a funny DS game, A classic Zelda, One of the best FFs ever and a generic RE4 ripoff with online co-op in the same month. It's not even my birthday.

Didn't get to really play Gears, so I'm obliged to put FFXII down.

Gears of War without question. Avatar saying that GoW is a RE4 rip-off is a cry for negative reinforcement. I've been playing GoW Co-op with friends for a couple weeks and started RE4 again too. Very different games, obviously. I love them both to death, though.

I could give 2 shits about Zelda. I want to try FF12 though, since it was made by the team thats responsible for Vagrant Story.

How many shots did everyone take? I took 15.

I haven't played enough of Zelda to really say. The two best games I did play are Gears of War and Elite Beat Agents. Gears of War is pretty solid, but buggy as all get-out. Elite Beat Agents is just awesome.

I'll vote for Twilight Princess next month.

I also haven't played enough of FFXII or Zelda to vote. Seeing as there was no option for Sneak King, I voted for Gears.

What? I've had the player freeze glitch happen to me but that's all I've seen.

It's a huge toss-up between FFXII and Gears, so far, but really, I've barely been able to play Gears.

Still, got my vote because what little I played rocked my face off.

Audio bugs (especially in co-op), chainsaw causes crazy bugs all the time (see Dom screaming ten seconds after he chainsaws someone with blood still spurting everywhere)--stuff like that is always happening.

Out of that whole list I've only had a chance to play and complete both Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas. Both excellent games but hands down I'm going to have to give it to Gears, which in my opinion also deserves game of the year.

I am also very intrigued by this damn Viva Piniata. Rare figured out how to make a good game again?

Actually, no. I wish there was anything close to as good as Viva Piñata on the Wii, because then I wouldn't feel like such a sucker when I inevitably buy one prior to Mario Galaxy.

Final Fantasy XII, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of third person shooters. Gears of War is clearly a fantastic game and more power to everyone who enjoys it, but call me when Unreal Tournament 2007 comes out. First person is much, much more my speed for games like this.

And I place FFXII above Zelda because it actually makes an attempt to shake up the formula in a meaningful way, and succeeds.

Gears would absolutely not work as a first person game.

Zelda wins my vote. I haven't played anything else tho...besides guitar hero 2 which was great.

Well, to clarify I mean "meatheads blowing the shit out of each other with big guns." Nothing intricate, just the general theme. For modern action games the Unreal Tournament style of FPS is far and away my favorite.

How is there an option for Pimp my Ride and not Sneak King?
