A thread where you can whine about your illnesses.

For let it be known: I have the flu today. Woke up with sore throat. Sigh. Tried to shop at the grocery market and had waves of fever roll over me. Feeling dizzy. Sore throat. I can't afford to be sick now, it sucks... Last week I paid 45$ for a flu-vaccination, crap investment! I think I got infected when a small asian kid vomited over me and my car last night. So to recap, nothing is great. I couldn't even enjoy gaming if I tried, so I won't. Yeah, that's all for now.

No, I didn't actually. Are you BS'ing me? My doc said 'no sideeffects, whatsoever'... I was feeling strong n' healthy before the shot though... God that sucks even more...

The old style vaccine used to give some people the disease, I don't think that happens at all anymore. It does take about a month to build up the immunity and it only vaccinates against popular strains of the virus. It's entirely possible that it just didn't work for you, either. They're not perfect.

No. It's a longer story... There was alot of commotion on the street after midnight, crying, screaming, etc. So I went to investigate and found 10 teenage-girls out of control. One of them had a serious alcohol poisoning and had gone hysterical. Anyways, I decided to take charge of the situation and drive the poor girl home. So while I'm driving, she's on the backseat with a helpful friend of hers, screaming, crying and puking. And everyone I see on the way are looking at me like I'm some sick kidnapper. She also started to pass out on me with vomit in her mouth, so I had to slap her face to make her come around and vomit on my carfloor instead. I nearly called 911 at one point, when I thought she stopped breathing. Maybe she was just passed out, I couldn't tell as I was driving meanwhile.
Anyway, I found her home, deep in the projects, and got her parents to carry her up to their apt. Kids nowadays... I'm telling ya.

I've decided to hijack davidski's thread and make it not only about your illness issues at the moment but your most triumphant moment in your own personal sickness history.

I haven't been sick since last April. But it was a glorious experience, atleast for me. You see I have coddled myself all my life and never had the benefit of experiencing projectile vomit for myself. Only vicariously through others. One cold night at the beginning of April I went to bed with a queezy stomach. I figured something was up but a good night's rest would cured what ailed me.

How wrong I was.

It turns out that my brother was experiencing similar issues in the washroom next to my room. His dry heaving and stream of constant cursing sent me in to a tail spin, health wise. I could actually feel all of the juicy ham crawling up my esophagus, clinging to the wall like an army of ants coming out of their burrow. I jumped to my waste paper basket, figuring it was the easiest way out of a situation that was definitely going to leave me wanting a stick of double mint gum, but it was full. I would've dumped it out but I didn't feel like having BLT leftovers all over my bedroom floor. If I had known then what I know now I would have made a different decision here.

So I went to the bathroom, not thinking that my brothers gurgles and the splashing of toilet water at high velocity just prior to my dire situation are what set me off in the first place. Luckily the downstairs washroom wasn't taken, so I darted down the stairs two steps at a time. It wasn't fast enough.

I tried to catch the stream in my hands in my sleepy stupor which only served to angle the spray at awkward angles throughout the hallway and down stairs. The stream was the entire diameter of my mouth and the first "wave", as I like to call it, lasted a good 8 - 10 seconds. I eventually made it to the washroom in between gagging attacks and gave the toilet some well needed excercise. I cleaned myself up and went back to bed after grabbing a pale from the laundry room and that was it for the huge vomit explosion that was my night. I threw up 12 times the next day. Usually once every half an hour. I couldn't even keep down a shallow glass of water. By the end of the day I was just throwing up tangy stomach bile. This must be what cobra's feel like when people milk them for their venom.

The next day when I came downstairs to get some water I noticed that the walls, carpet (which has since been replaced) and the ceiling were all covered in a mosiac style vomit painting.

It didn't help that I went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet that evening either.

Cripes Andrew, your story makes me want to vomit. Too descriptive.
I had food poisoning once. Only time in my life were being dead seemed a million times more attractive than living. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

I'm not sick right now but my wrist is real sore :/

I was sick about 3 months ago I suppose, it was pretty much a one night thing but I was puking a whole lot and I was in immense pain. At one point I figured that if I drank some NyQuil maybe I'd fall asleep and feel better in the morning but I ended up throwing up NyQuil (which was pretty horrible) and many times afterward I was just throwing up stomach bile. I was starting to get dehydrated and I was in a lot of pain so I went to the hospital. They hooked me up to an IV to rehydrate me and gave me some kind've shot, they wanted to do all these tests but for some reason I found the hospital bed extremely uncomfortable and told them I wanted to leave despite protests.
