Holiday Gaming Goals 2007

Many of us have winter vacations coming up, even if it's just a few days. Rather than spend them with family, I find these are good times to really sink one's chops into some marathon gaming sessions.

I have 18 days off in a row, and years of catching up to do. Here's my schedule (parenthetical titles are late additions):

START THESE GAMES - COMPLETED (a modest proposal, but I reckon I'll want to put at least a couple hours into each of these after starting them)

Holiday gaming goal: play as much Gears of War as possible.

I haven't been able to play FF12 like I wanted to; only 21 hours in. I want to complete that game, complete Zelda: TP, and start/finish Dead Rising.

Ooh, I completely forgot about this game. I never actually owned it, but I fell in love with it watching various friends play it at the time. I should track that down one of these days.

As for me:

• Finish FF12
• Proceed to fill Sky Pirate's Den if at all possible
• Finish Contact
• Polish off Mother 3
• Finish Castlevania: PoR
• Legally acquire and finish off Psychonauts
• Attempt to play Policenauts
• Maybe Sam and Max Episode 1

That seems pretty ambitious to me. If, god forbid, I need any more time wasted I have a fairly tall pile of older games I'd like to revisit.

My goal: hopefully get any 360 game as a gift and play the hell out of it, and enjoy a good connection for Xblox Live while home for break.

I need to finish FFXII. I have a few games that are still shrinkwrapped and I'll need to play but who knows if I'll ever get to them.

Ah, you see, that doesn't need to be a goal. HS will be played a minimum of two hours every single night upon receiving it for weeks to come. I haven't anticipated a game so much in a long time. The goals are mostly for stuff I might not get to unless I made myself accountable (with lists).

Your list is indeed pretty ambitious. Bravo. I need to finish Contact, too. I meant to include it in my list. I'm very close but I think I have a bit of level grinding ahead of me.

Anachronox is indeed very cool. I only just barely started it years ago, and have no excuse for why I didn't delve further (beyond having truckloads of games to get through).

Sorry Compass, I'm going to be a pussy. I'm never going to finish any goals I set and I've come to terms with that.

I just want to get some more time on Condemned and Viva Pinata.
