Damn I'd much rather see a Silent Night Deadly Night remake
but I can make do with this. Never saw the original or if I
did I don't remember much. So yeah was the orignal decent?

The original is a classic. It's also generally considered the first slasher movie, and Halloween is rumored to have originally been the sequel to Black Christmas. The remake looks like pure shit. I urge all to avoid it, and see the original instead.

The remake has Michelle Trachtenberg in it. Yummy.

Never saw the original, but I too have heard people refer to it as the first real slasher movie. I need to check it out.

Not quite, most people give credit to Psycho or Peeping Tom for getting things going, Blood Feast for making it bloody (and kind of shitty). And the Texas Chainsaw Massacre came out a couple of months before Black Christmas--Basically there isn't really one true first slasher movies, they all kind of came out at the same time spawned from the same sources.

In any case, the original is definitely worth checking out and let's just pretend that the remake never happened.
