Not denying the difference between SD and HD outputs. But regular DVDs with HD cables look pretty good, and with one of the new players that filters the output and upsamples it to HD resolution, they really do look pretty damned close to HD-DVD.

No it doesn't. Maybe the newer releases have corrected the problems, but for the most part, you'll see blocky backgrounds.

Just seeing HD content through a cable/dish provider, shows how much better the picture can be when broadcasted in true HD.

Theres a few promotions out in Comcast that can either

A: Lower the bill.
B. Raise the bill but give you 3 premium channels.

I have basic cable (no HD, although I wonder wtf am I too lazy to get HD cable), phone and internet all from Comcast and it runs about 120 a month.

I highly suggest you check out Verizon Fios, if you have it in your area. You can get an HD package(plus phone and high speed internet), for about the same price as what you're paying now.
