I wish to god we could get Verison's Fios around here.
There are really only 2 cable companies around here, Time Warner & WOW. Unfortunately WOW isn't available in my area and Time Warner is way over priced for what you get (I can get almost twice as many channels on Direct TV for less).
You can sign up with Comcast and get the Platnium package (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, TMC, and Starz), CDV phone (unlimited long distance; call id, call waiting, second line, free calls to PR, voice mail stored on net for access if away from home, etc), and CHSI (cable internet) 8megs, for $159. This will be introduced Mid-January. Just an FYI.
Normally this would be 200 or over.
(edit I added this up) Plat - 110., CHSI w 8meg - 52.95+3 for modem rental, and 39.00 for Phone = 204.95.
Oh and HD service is free due to you having the full package. You can talk to Comcast about that Joust. Due to you having all three ... HD should be free. That goes for anyone with Cablevison, Time Warner, or Comcast. If you have all three services; you at least have Digital cable and one premium channel (HBO, Max, Sho, TMC, or Starz). You are entitled to HD service for free.

In my area PS3s are sitting at Target, CC, Best Buy, everywhere, but Wiis are impossible to find everywhere around me...
I'll get a Wii once they have one, but the 360 (which I just got) is covering me as the true next gen console, Gears and Dead Rising are better than anything out on PS3 for the forseeable future...
600 is niche videophile pricing...and people, mainstream gamers, will just not pay that kind of money and even gameheads don't give a crap about bluray right now -- how about this -- give me a console for games and I can worry about the movie watching on my own.
