They still haven't shown any demos of people playing as the boss zombies, so I suspect there's still quite a way to go. And I'll be surprised if this or Episode 3 isn't delayed for a simultaneous release.

I'd go with both this and Episode 3 being delayed.

Well, Left 4 Dead has been in development for a while now. Only recently did Valve absorb the company originally working on it.
I'm a bit worried that we haven't been hearing about the 4 zombie controlled players that play against the survivors. That's what interested me most about the game. Here's hoping they didn't axe it.
Games don't like you playing as a zombie for some reason. That could've added a lot to the RE games, IMO.
To be fair, it would've taken you FOREVER just to get across the room.
