Demo was alright but really laggy.
Tried the now-public L4D2 demo, aaaand.
I don't want to want this game, but that was pretty cool. Already can tell it's a significant step up from the original.
Reinstalling L4D1 for shits, we'll see.

Valve games have never been good on home consoles.
I thought L4D was pretty decent on 360. Yah yah yah P33C33 is better.
It was decent on 360.
Now about this awful L4D2 demo.
1: Can't get a decent connection at all.
2: Framerate skips in singleplayer.
3: Completely feels like an expansion pack. I dunno what Tain is talking about up there. Let's go over the changes:
New Maps: Expansion material? Check.
New Items:
Adrenaline Shot - almost the same as pain pills but increases movement speed
Defib pack - resucitates dead teammate. Ok.
A couple new guns in a "middle tier" between regular and top-tier...fine.
Melee weapons - Feel kind of shitty, except the sword. Hard to enjoy the carnage of melee weapons with the graphics on 360, not nearly bloody or gory enough to take GoW level pleasure in, and it's so hectic it's hard to look around anyway. Worst part, you can't carry pistols if you're carrying a melee weapon. It's rare that I'd want a melee weapon over pistols, but it's good for a horde I suppose, with your back against a wall.
Boomer bile grenade - Why? Really?
New zombies are fun though:
Spitter - spits acid which stays in a pool on the ground for a while and deals high damage. Low health.
Smoker - increased health makes him a bigger threat especially 1v1
Jockey - RIDE HIM LOL. Lots of fun. Don't shoot your teammate! Will be hell on expert.
Charger - Way cooler than a tank imo. Dunno if a tank is still in this one. Much lower health but much faster and more damaging if the team isn't fast to react.
So I mean, this feels like a 20 dollar expansion at most. Maybe 30 if they had done it with like a 20 dollar item/zombie update followed by some map packs. I don't know why this is a whole new game.
I'm really, really disappointed this kind of content didn't get relased as DLC over the last year. It's what I was expecting. I feel gypped.

By "significant step up from the original," I mean exactly that. It seems like this game right here is better than the original game. Doesn't really have anything to do with whether or not I think it's enough to warrant a new release, but the game's 30 bucks anyway.

The hints on load screens hints at more new stuff like different ammo types. I wonder if it will be enough.
