I'm sold. Being the only person left fighting a tank, putting 6 clips in him only 2 have him pick up a block of broken concrete and throw it at my dome. Pure win.

I wish it didn't have the TF2 ice skater movement, especially for the close quarters stuff, but other than that, it's good times.
360 demo was amazing, I wanna play expert but the g/f is like normal is hard enough. This day 1, Mirror's edge for xmas or something.
I wanna finally give this a test run here in a bit. See if it's as good as everyone is saying and if it will actually be able to pull me away from Gears 2 for a bit.
omg download faster on-campus steam
ps fuck live
jesus expert is really hard. We had a pretty decent team I think, and couldn't get to the end.
OK, played the demo finally. I'm sold. I will be getting this for the 360 as I do not have a PC to run it on.
The 360 port is really well made. Looks great, runs really well and the controls are adapted as well as you could ask for. Teamwork like a mother fucker in this game.
The range for the smoker is completely broken though. I mean, from the top of a roof to the street? Around blind corners?
That's what makes him so scary!
The worst isn't the smoker anyway, it's running into a Boomer around a blind corner. Or, you know, running into a tank. Ever. You really have to pay attention to the sound to know what's ahead.
The smoker range could be really obnoxious in versus mode though. And I don't know how you'll be able to kill a tank that acts intelligently.
This is easily one of the most intense things I've ever played. I knew it would be good, but I was still blown away the first time I saw a swarm running down a hallway at me. I'll be picking this up for the 360. Good games last night Joe & Cap, sorry my connection shit the bed at the end there.
This is the truth. It was NEVER the smoker who killed us. It was always a horde or a tank. But even after getting hit by a boomer though we could make it out relatively unscathed as long as we had team work. Those tanks though, fucking impossible to kill, and I'm convinced they can't be killed on Expert (that is until I see one die).
It always seems like it's smarter to just run...but then you realize there's no way in hell you can make it.
He's too fast!
Wait for him to start raping one of your team mates, for the good of the team Then steal his healthpack after he's dead
But no you gotta lure him into a spot where he'll have to be coming directly at you a hallway or train (don't be in those yourself though).
Also we had a witch right in the middle of the fucking train that was fun. I just told everyone to start shooting the bitch, we did, then a smoker got me, and a hunter got someone else and the horde came.
That shit don't work! We had a molotov on him, plus I unloaded 6 clips while Cow unloaded what had to be another few with his shotgun. The fucker still didn't go down. He just smashed Cow to bits and then turned to me and threw the concrete block at me. And the other enemy that will kill you in this game more than any other one is your own god damn team. Seriously, we must have had more damage done to us by each other than by any of the enemies combined.
Yeah with just two people you're not killing a tank.
I need to play with 3 other people to see what the fuss is all about. Playing alone and then with Cap, I came away with a meh feeling.
KOF - I think Sinista, Netwurked and I are gonna try this out tonight if you want in.
I'd definitely be interested in this if TNL has a decent amount of people playing the 360 version. It didn't happen with TF2, which made me hesitant.
Fuck, I was all set to buy this for the PC... but it's tempting to play this with Joe and Jed and Brad and co.
I need a full room to really get the feel for this, but yeah, I am already sold on it.
LOL at the PC elitist. Grow up.
I hope so, normal is worthless.
One time it was interesting, as against my request to bump it up the host left it on normal anyway but then enabled cheats and gave us new guns before spawning constant hordes from all over the place. We were quickly consumed but it was a pretty hilarious run for the exit while it lasted.
It's true, and the gap of difficulty between advanced and expert is like night and day. That and expert is that much more fun than advanced because of the 20 zombie hordes that are kicking you while you are on the ground after getting hit by a boomer. All while you're shooting them and watching your teammates try and clear them out in order to save you.
...I can't wait to play more of this demo...
It seems like there will be a good number of people. I'm know I'm definitely going to be getting it regardless, even if it's just to play with randoms. It's that much fun.
I really don't give a rats ass what system you play it on. That's your choice and doesn't effect me what so over. So why do you care if some one who doesn't have the computer to play it gets it for the 360? Does it really bother you so much that someone gets it for the 360 because that's the only way they can play it? No, seriously. Why does it bother you so much? Grow up already.
Well to be honest, if you have a PC that can run it and you don't get it for the PC, it better be because all of your friends are assholes that can't run shit on their PCs (Or you can't run it on yours) because the PC versions are factually superior. But I wasn't trying to bring that up at the time.
My PC can't run it. So myeah.
Also I'm totally awful with KB+M anyway. :(
What's awesome is you can use your 360 controller on the PC version.
Though I haven't checked I don't know if PC players can play with 360 players. Fuck if that were the case there would be little to no excuse for most assholes lol.
This runs like buttered silk on my PC. Day one.
Nice, also yeah this is one of the most optimized games I've ever played.
if anyone is needing another to join get at me i'd love to play some co-op on this :)
I didn't play TF2 but I will play this. If you don't all sell your copies in three days, we will be good. One advantage the PC version has is that the games are worth 3 dollars in a week so no one gets rid of them.
asstards
Do it, Jed might be a slim possibility but Brad is dead as far as games are concerned. I was playing this last night with JM (Latro) and we had a fucking blast. I think we are playing again tonight so be sure to download it and jump in.
Sorry I couldn't hang last night Brand, I had to hit the sack after JM and I finished our last play through.
No worries man, we ended up finding a fourth. I'll definitely be on tonight, most likely playing Mirror's Edge, but send me an invite and I'll join.
I'd like to play with 3 others tonight. I've only played with 2 others for about 10 min, so I'd like to get the full experience.
This game is amazing and if you don't like it you're not a good person.
It's unreal that this game runs well enough (lol) on my PC. Seems better optimized than TF2. Helps that it isn't competitive.
My runthrough on normal was a little bland, yeah. Kinda just made me with I was playing Svencoop.
Make no mistake, I started getting into it on Expert. I look forward to playing the demo more tonight, and on better PCs.
I LOVE the idea of this, but I'm allergic to first person games. D: D:
Joe, I forgot I have a birthday dinner to go to tonight. I'll be on later, but it may be too late for you. Jed says he is getting his live account back up soon, so L4D and gears will most likely be on the agenda. =)
That's cool bro, if I'm not still on when get home I'll just catch you tomorrow or whenever else is a good time to play. It's good to hear that Jed is looking to get on again. I'm still waiting for him to reply to my PM about it. I think I scared him off when I started e-stalking him about liking creamy peanut butter.
I'm looking to get a game going on live if anyone else is up for it, join up.
I'm definitely in.
Let's do it up. Kev is gonna be on in a minute too, anyone else?
Shoot me an invite when you have the game up.
cannot decide PC or 360?!!!
PS2!
I don't know how anyone can act like the versions are equal given the modding possibilities of the PC version.
I don't care about modding possibilities. I rather play a new game than go play mods. But that's just me.
OK, then how about the free content updates? Compare TF2 on 360 vs PC.
I'll play this demo if one of you wants to.
So yeah, the demo pretty much sold me on this game.
I'M GOING TO GET IT ON 360 HAHA
Finally completed expert with Cap, Razor, and Praxis. Only one of us made it.
This thread is going to be awesome when the new boss zombies/weapons/survivors/campaigns are released.
A further game with Pineapple devolved into everyone shooting each other lol.
fuck that. Ama have to buy this...on the xbox.
Also, guys, I'm bored because my gears mate got drunk and passed out. GRS PLZ.
I must say this game is fucking fun and I believe how a zombie game should be done!
I don't know why anyone would prefer to get this on the 360. I feel sorry for those who have to get it for 360 out of necessity. But to want that version? Have fun, I guess.
I feel sorry for your mom.
Anyway, fun game with 4 ppl on expert. We had some holy shit moments that were just hilarious. I might have to trade in some stuff to pick this up.
Splitscreen. Yeah, I know the PC version will have it, but it'd be too much of a hassle to move my PC to hook it up. It controls well enough on the pad.
[RE defense]If it controlled too well it wouldn't be survival horror![/RE defense]
i tried the pc demo, comp won't run it well.
Some games are obviously PC and obviously console specific, to me, and I can't really tell you why.
Actually, some clues come from the UI. Does it use really big fucking things (console) or tiny microscopic numbers (PC)? Does the control feel natural on a keyboard, where you can map to a million keys or is it a shitty port of a console game with 6 buttons? The best example of this is I can remember off the top of my head is Oblivion = console title because of the giant text, UI, and gamepad inspired spell system.
Bioshock = console
Left4Dead, Half Life 2, Portal = PC
I can just look and know what it's for.
How about the cheats right now? The PC demo has a way of doing 2v2.
Also, for those that want such a thing: Third-person view!Quote:
To enable type "thirdpersonshoulder" in the console (without quotes).
Type thirdpersonshoulder again to disable it.
It's good with a bind like t or o.
I have bound it to t.
If you want to bind it to o because you MUST spray, then type this on the console:
bind o thirdpersonshoulder
Otherwise
bind t thirdpersonshoulder
THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU PRESS T OR O (depends on which of the two codes above you selected) YOU'LL GET THIS THIRD PERSON VIEW AND IF YOU PRESS IT AGAIN YOU GO BACK TO FIRST PERSON
ALSO IF YOU SHOOT AND YOUR CHARACTER SHOOTS A BIT MORE TO THE RIGHT THAN THE CROSSHAIR THEN TYPE cam_idealyaw -1
BUT IF YOU SHOOT AND YOUR CHARACTER SHOOTS A BIT MORE TO THE LEFT THAN THE CROSSHAIR THEN TYPE cam_idealyaw 1
Couldn't have said it better. And those examples are exactly in line with the platforms I played each on as well. It's not just about preferring kb/mouse (..or vice versa); some games just offer an experience better designed for one or the other. Another example: Fallout 3 = console.
Edit: damn it Mech. This post in reference to Mzo's (on iPhone right now, can't copy/paste :p)
Played the demo last night as well. Its pretty awesome how there are so many zombies on screen at one time. I hit the car alarm on purprose, and the one guy is like "here they come!" and its a huge clusterfuck. It's like being in 28 Days Later. So cool.
Fallout 3 is still best on a PC, though I agree that it was designed with consoles in mind.
I mean, play whichever version you want. I bought CoD4 for 360, even though my PC could easily handle it. ..But playing a Valve game on the 360 is criminal. N64 Starcraft criminal.
I dunno. It's still 99.99% objective when it comes to PC/Console. Granted, there are some games that a majority of people would enjoy more on the PC rather than on console. At the same time, a lot of games are just as fun on either. I originally bought the Orange Box on the PC and loved it, but when I got rid of my computer, I got it for the 360 and felt it was just as good. I haven't played L4D on the PC, but I can say that I've enjoyed the hell out of the demo and seriously doubt that my enjoyment would hardly be increased, if at all, over playing it on the 360.
Solitaire is really so much better on the PC.
iPhone imo.
I can't believe you assholes are on this subject once again.
The PC is clearly superior in ability to post banal arguments on message boards about whether PC is superior!
gonna PO the 360 version since i can get it for ~38 bucks w coupon, and prob pick up the PC version when its ~25 or so in a few months
ran through expert the other night with the homies, and it was a blast
the zombies that start slow then just full out sprint towards you are scary as shit, so awesome!
Probably Frys.
I assume you meant subjective, and, no, it isn't. The PC can do literally everything the 360 can do, including using the same controller and being hooked up to your living room HDTV. The opposite is not true. There are zero technical advantages of the 360 over the PC. None.
Ok then, subjective, and in most cases it is. If I have fun with a game, whether it is on the PC or 360, who the fuck cares? If you actually care that I play something on the 360 over the PC than you have some issues my friend. Now, I don't even have a PC to play the PC version, but the point still stands that fun is fun and it really doesn't matter how you play the game except to stuck up dumbasses who feel they have to try to make themselves better than everyone else.
I don't give a shit where you play it, but don't say that the quality is subjective, because it isn't. The couch/HDTV argument that all the console-only people constantly throw out is bullshit.
But there are cases like Bioshock where the differences are minimal enough so as to not matter. Yes, games like Fallout and Oblivion are terrible examples (the latter had a new UI and a million enhancements before the first month was up), but it's not always just people trying to make up bullshit reasons like PCs costing as much as a new car.
I never mentioned quality, I was talking about enjoying the damn game. Get it through your thick skull that you can actually still enjoy a game that is on the 360 that is also on the PC. Maybe some of us don't need the graphics to be 5% better, mods, etc. Some just want to play the game for what it is then move on.
Unless its Gears ... in which case ... you play it till the next installment comes out. ;)
Also: wahhhh to all the PC v. Console arguments.
I don't have a $1000+ PC? I can sell the game in multiple ways getting back most of the money spent on the game? Live is a great system where most of my friends who also don't have a PC for gaming play? All perfectly good reasons for me to want to play the 360 version over the PC version.
