I haven't seen you on in ages Prince.
"they don't come out during the day."
"that's vampires, moron."
"End this, bring out the nukes!" *drawing of a big bomb falling on a zombie stick figure.
Your listed as Offline in my list, it never says when you were last on. You still have Crackdown?
Rumpy: Yeah, I still have it and will gladly engage in some co-op mayhem any time.
Epmode: Fuck. I wondered about that. I even checked the little box a week or two or ago to make sure, and I swear I set it to appear online. Need to double check. And here I thought I was just being systematically ignored by everyone but my ex-wife.
Check that shit, I'd be down for some DOA too.
I should have known you'd be too smart for the 360 rev. I'll send a request anyway just to show you some respect.
Finally got around to playing the versus mode. Holy shit it is fuckin fun. As the survivor, its the same old game but now there are a more special infected and they are even smarter now cause other people are playing as them. If you are the special infected, it is fun as hell to fuck with the survivors when the shit hits the fan. If we could get 8 people for 360 versus tonight, that would be awesome. I've only played with randoms who run off on their own when you really need to stick together as the survivors to win.
lets play!
Goodtimes playing coop with Error. I was playing splitscreen with a friend and couldnt be bothered to wear my mic.
You do know Mars was in that game too right? lol
Good game Hero. My first game where everyone survived.
Ugh, just played the worst hour of this game on the last part of the second movie with the biggest idiots for partners. Me and my buddy breezed through the entire chapter, until they joined up on the last section, and we tried like 15 times to beat it and couldn't.
One of them: "yo dawg, i need a health pack"
Me: "you already have one"
One of them: "i need one tho nigga"
One of them: "yo dawg, we should each sit in the corner of this house, they neva get us in here when we aimin at the windows"
Me: "We'll all die, there are at least 4 ways into that room, we should go out to this dock where there is only one way to get to us"
One of them: "yo dawg, there be one, two, three, FIVE ways to get on dat dock"
Seriously, I wanted to murder them. And I couldn't boot either of them since they can into the party together.
Yeah man, this game hinges on your teammates, and shitty teammates will totally dictate your experience. I had a similar experience last night when I was playing, and ended up saying fuck it, and then went and played Tomb Raider Underworld.
EDIT: How come you couldn't boot them though? Came into the party together?
Yeah, I just don't agree with that at all. They climb up from everywhere when you're in the house. They bust through all the windows and doors, they come up the stairs, and once you get to the tank part you're fucked because you generally get separated, or all 4 people are stuck inside upstairs together. Hell, they even tear down the railings on they outside of the deck because the climb up on all sides.
On the dock, the majority of the zombies attack from the front, while at most 3 of them are climbing up the sides at a time. If you have one person on each side kind of paying attention to if they are climbing up, it ain't no thang. Plus on both of the tanks you can start shooting him far before he can get close enough to hit you. And when the boat gets there you just have to jump on it since you're already there.
PS. We just beat that part on the first try by defending the docks (and I left Cap behind, WAAAAAAAH)
If you run out of ammo before the second tank you are wasting way too much ammo. The combination of molotovs, gas tanks, and pipe bombs should be enough to get you through the majority of the zombies. Plus the people who are guarding the sides don't really need to use anything but melees and pistols since there aren't that many zombies at a time.Quote:

They are.
Also, it seems like you have to play a campaign in a single run to get the achievement. I'm pretty sure K3V, KoF, and Brand had beaten all of the previous chapters before starting on chapter 3 yet none of us got the achievement.
Also, fuck Brand. I was right behind him down by a hunter which he could have easily knocked off or killed yet he just jumped on the boat to save his own skin. Coward.
I played a game with PBMax and we did okay defending from the house. The trick was setting up traps that we'd trigger at each turning point in the fight. Plus running for pipe bombs and molotavs is a good way to shake off zombies.
Maybe it's just me, but that fight was so much easier than the fight on top of Mercy Hospital (fuck that).
They give you a shit load of extra goodies to survive from the house, the hospital is just straight up brutal.
If you keep running out of machine gun ammo, use the shotgun. Otherwise don't waste main gun ammo on the strays, just use the pistols when things are calm. You can do tons of damage with the pistols but you need to be accurate and conservative.
Often I'm just using the main gun only after i've emptied my pistol.
For real. I only use the main gun when shit gets serious.
I'll be on later tonight guys. Invite pls
I'll be on in a few. I'll send you a friend request Mars.
Our strat was one on the stairs, one on the back door, one on the hole that busts open, and one on the window. Window spot is really easy, holding melee knocks everyone off which means that the wood hole spot is also easy. Doors are always a gimmie, and the stairs are narrow enough for a shotty to take it. But I mean, the beauty of the game is that you can use so many different ways to beat the same thing. Often practical ideas really work too!
Obviously you run when the tank comes! Get the fuck out of that room.
Mercy hospital - Survivor room
Death Toll - Upstairs
Dead Air - Survivor room
Blood Harvest - Boys bedroom.
Well the truth is we all died the first time. Second attempt was a breeze, but it could have turned hairy if we weren't able to quickly free you from that smoker near the dock. We got puked on, so things would have gotten nuts had we not been able to just run down the dock to the boat.
The house fight is much easier than waiting for the helicopter at the hospital. That may be why I prefer the hospital level -- it's just much more tense. I haven't played the other two levels yet.
the strategy that I use along with the other 3 players on the rooftop of Mercy Hospital (on Advanced) is to have two people stand inside the door of the bottom of the staircase and have two people stand on the rooftop of the same building housing the ammo. And when the Tank comes, everyone switches to the shotgun. Easy Win.
That was some good VS today Cap, Mog. Too bad my connection dropped.
No one was one today. I was sad, no tnl zombies to slaughter.
Dude. Playing with random people in this game sucks. I was playing last night with randoms once my buddy left, and it was absolutely no fun at all. No one fucking talked or used the mic or tried to formulate any strategy whatsoever, and to make things worse 1 or 2 guys were on a fucking speed run through the level and would not stop to work as a team. And that was a good summary of, like, 3 games I was in.
Good thing you have a very large friends list full of people who don't suck.
Except they're all playing Gears of War 2.
I played an Advanced run through No Mercy last night with three random players, all of which were solid team players. Most of the randoms I've played with have been cool, although I make sure they have a headset and don't sound like a moron before I start the game.
I was in the air, jumping into the f'in escape helicopter when a Smoker grabbed me with his tongue.
Man this game can be cruel.
LoL want cruel? I'm playing a pretty solid infected on the Hospital roof finale. Manage to incap bill as the chopper gets down, and guess who gets the tank spawn. ME.
The other three spilt up, and go for the chopper or to help the other guy, I as the tank go for the chopper, jump in, punch Zoey out of it, incap the black guy in the chopper, then my teammates hunter pounces Francis who went back for Bill.
Rule: Never ever split up. Unless you're this team. Leave this guy behind
Ok, now I want to play more versus. Damn is that mode fun.
"YOU USED ME LIKE A PIPE BOMB!"
That was freakin hilarious. Reminds me of that video where the kid kept crying and went insane when his older bro kept beating him at halo, I'd have to guess this is fake though, as it is just too funny to be real.
Thanks for the vid, staged but funny.
I broke down and went out and got the game today. Played with some friends, but I really need to get some 4 player action everyone was tired so it was only 2 of us...
Mezz, his 2 friends and I did the 3rd campaign (The airport one) and the last stand where the plane comes crashing down was pretty awesome. We only did it on normal, don't think we would have survived on Advance.
Anyone up for a 360 Expert run, any level, tonight at 11 pm EST?
We need get a couple Steam groups going again tonight. I'm off this week, so I can play longer with a good group.
Yeah I'm down for some L4D I've been on but haven't seen anyone else on.
I'm down for tonight. again, feel free to peel me away from WOW.
If there is anyone there PBMax and I need a 4th right NOW! We are playing advanced.
i'm down for tonight be on in a minute
How bad is Expert? Advanced was an exercise in itself, I'd hate to see what the next level is (see what I did there?)
Expert is hard as hell.
You absolutely must stick together and keep moving forward or you're going to get slaughtered.
Enemy damage and hit points are scaled way up. Normal zombies sometimes survive a close-range shotgun blast, and they do crazy damage when they start clawing at you. A Hunter can bring you from 60% health to dead in like 10 seconds. Tanks are absolute beasts.
The amount of special zombies coming from behind is also greatly increased.
But it's pretty damn fun with a cool group of people who won't get frustrated trying the same stage over and over.
I find that on advanced and expert you do more friendly fire damage too. That in itself ups the difficulty.
Biff and I are starting a party, maybe Expert (or Advanced in 4th campaign)... come join if you want in.
There are really only three tricks needed for this game on expert.
1 - If you are in front, you are ducking. Nobody can save you ass from the zombie that came from the side when you are standing up.
2 - When the zombie horn plays, you get your group together in a hallway. Even a 4 person circle facing outwards would work.
3 - When there is a tank, burn and run. After its on fire, be prepared to go back through the level for a while.
I mean, you can get through the game without these tricks, especially with a good group, but if you are getting frustrated, they really help.
The PC version of this is $20 on Amazon starting at 3AM EST. 360 is $40.
holy fuck. Too bad it's not 20 bucks for the 360.
$40 is still good go get
I'm gonna be picking this up for the PC on Black Friday. Is there a list of you bastards that play this on PC?
We're all in the TNL Steam clan.
Okay...how do I join this clan?
PC version sounds good to me.
Source Engine games are usually way too twitchy for a controller.
I just hope I can run it decently; Team Fortress 2 gives me no problems, but that game's a year or two old now.
WTF, they dropped the price $2, not $30.
edit: Oh, the deal sold out in 5 minutes.
Who wants to play this on 360 tonight. Movie #3 imo.
shit i woulda but xmas stuff with the g/f
Agreed. Shenanigans that you were on the truck and got wrecked by that tank tho LOL
Watch your back.
Hahaha! Very nice.
lolol
lol, wow
(and wtf TNL? I go offline for two days and everyone's playing Gears? L4D is pretty useless without a good group/going solo)
the xbox needs to forward invites to cell phones so assholes get online and play. I don't know why it wouldn't work, either, so I'm serious.
Hahahaha!!!
i laughed a lot. good stuff
That was amazing, also, breaking from WoW so if you see me on steam (I got my shit back) send me an invite for L4D and I'll play.
Okay guys, I'd like to play but I never see anyone on. What would be a good time to get a game going tonight?
I'll get on tonight, I'll send you a friend request.
I'm down for some. Probably around 9:30p EST.
i received this for my birthday, not too crazy about it after a run through the first level.
Did you play it by yourself?
with a friend and two randoms.
