You're thinking of last winter when they took underwater pictures of one taking some bait which appeared on National Geographic online. Those were nice pics and IIRC, it was also about 3 meters, so likely a juvenile too. I watched a special on Discovery the other day with some professors spending days trying to catch one of these things. They caught a couple of really small baby ones, but they kept killing them. Towards the end of the show they figured out the method of capturing the squids was causing too much trauma to their bodies and causing them to die. They figured out a better device for capturing them, but once they successfully got a live one it still died and they had no clue why. I think they mentioned it could have been the light level or the pressurization.Quote:
