I didn't say anything about Nixon's career. The one problem I have with Nixon and Ford is the whole pardoning on the Watergate Scandal.

Nixon didn't even have anything to do with Watergate other than covering it up, which was a mistake. Besides, if you think Watergate was an isolated incident for either party, you're incredibly naive. The old saying is very true: "The only thing Nixon did wrong was get caught."

No, the only thing Nixon did was actually buck up in the end an accept his fate. Clinton and Kennedy would "appeal" to the American people and whine like bitches.

Accept his fate? Deny everything until the end, resign to avoid having to face what he did, and then getting pardoned, is "accepting what he did"?

I like how you guys use the "but the other side does it too!" excuse to justify the only president in history having to resign in disgrace.

Nixon was a great politician whose paranoia and mean streak did him in. No one is to blame for his downfall but him. It wasn't the Democrats or anyone else. He fucked up and got caught with his pants down, plain and simple.

That being said, it was a shame, because he did some great things for America that will always be overshadowed by Watergate, just as LBJ's incredible domestic achievements will forever remain overshadowed by the fuck up in Vietnam.

By appeal, I meant use as a crutch, I should have rephrased it.

Let's look at some brief highlights

Nixon= Opened the gates to China +1

Clinton= Uh, Nafta, and a huge military fund reduction, great moves assdick. -1

Bush SR= Nothing, I have Nothing, all he did was ride Reagans wave -1

Kennedy= Cuban Missle Crisis, and he died, that made him a legend. Although my dad was a SEAL and he was very adament about forming a Navy covert squad in his presidency. +1 (Mostly for the formation of NSWG1 (Navy Special Warfare Group One) who has seen more combat in more places than the army and marines combined.

Carter= LOL -1

Reagan= Assisted in the downfall of our greatest enemy, booming economy.
