"Sega has announced that it's currently working on a version of its arcade brawler for the Xbox that will be called Spike Out X-treme. The game is currently in development at Amusement Vision and it will support online play through the Xbox Live service. Sega says that the original Spike Out, which was released in 1998, is still an incredibly popular game, and that the Xbox is the most adequately equipped to handle a faithful console port.
An official release date has not been announced. We'll have more details on Spike Out Extreme as they become available. "


I used to have a few videos of this game and looked so cool. Ive always wanted to play it, and it looks like I just might get that chance. Um, yayness.

I haven't read anything about this X-box live where can I get more information on it?

I've never seen Spikeout. Is it anything like Cannon Spike?

Shikyoh, I have no linkage right this second, but Xbox live is Xboes online service.

Chibbi Nappa... from the videos Ive seen its a beat em up. Think 3D Streets of Rage on Naomi. Well.. probably get a nice graphical boost on Xbox. Hopefully online four player happy fun time.

This game sounds like it could be right up my alley. So much good stuff on its way for Xbox....:)

no.. nothing like cannon spike really.. and yes.. a 3d streets of rage is a good description... and it's an evolved sor gameplay wise as well.. spikeout was one of my favorite arcade units and i'm really looking forward to the xbox version... can't wait to see how it looks.. what they do to it

I played Spike Out in NYC a few years ago. It was pretty cool and I'm glad to hear the Xbox is getting another cool game.
