I'd have thought you were born in or had grown up in the Dallas area, didn't you live there at some time to become a Cowboys fan? Not criticizing just seriously asking.
My fan legacy is somewhat strange, I was born near San Francisco and both my dad and my uncles have been hardcore 49ers fans forever. However my family moved to Houston when I was 4 ; as I grew up I was raised as a 49ers fan as I watched games with my dad, yet since we now lived in Houston, I started to develop in the early 90s as a Houston Oilers fan as well, a fan for all Houston sports teams actually.
When the Oilers left for Tennessee and eventually became the Titans, a part of my loyalty still remained with them b/c hell, they had used to be my home team and its hard letting that go. When the Houston Texans were born, I naturally was a Texans fan from the word go, but the hardest games to watch are the Texans-Titans games thesedays, because even though I am ticked off when the Texans lose, I still feel good for the Titans.
Ditto for the 49ers, I still love them and support them, and during a Texans-49ers game I wouldn't really be able to pick sides.
No, the closest I've lived to Dallas is South Caroina and St. Louis. Ironically, I lived in St. Louis for several years between the Cardinals and Rams. I have never lived in a city with an NFL team. :(
I'll also add that my dad is a fan of all the Philadelphia teams, and rooting for teams he hates makes every Cowboys/Mets/Devils win that much sweeter. Not that my family is competitive...
I haven't really been able to decide on a team that I want to be my team yet.
Cowboys cause I use to live in Dallas, Browns cause where I live now, Seahawks because where I intend to live. I like the Saints this year, but that's just probably cause of their story book season.
So I haven't decided on a team yet lol, I just watch football :/
