If this is even as good as Temple of Doom this will be a massive success. I have no faith though. It's going to be bad. I don't think people's expectations are too high, I think they're just going to make a shitty movie.

That's what it looks like from the trailers.

Also, way too much CG.

I don't feel as though the movie will be bad as much as it will be...unnecessary.

the trailers really don't give me a warm feeling.

There's even some of that new star wars trilogy fanservice going on in the trailers.

On the plus side, at least Shia LeBouf isn't 8 years old. They could have easily gone that route.

I mean in terms of expectations. Everyone had almost thirty years to wipe away the wooden acting and plot holes from the original trilogy to the point that they considered them perfect. They then expected the new trilogy to be instantly as attractive, which is dumb.

But the new trilogy is shit. And the original trilogy WAS instantly attractive when it came out.

I'm still going to see it, but my expectations will be super low.

...because there was nothing like it out at the time. The new trilogy had to compete with two decades of canon and hype.
