WHAT WAS WITH THAT?! Was she really psychic? She didn't do anything that made her psychic except fail to read Indy's mind? Why did they have to bring the psychic thing in when... it fucking didn't relate to anything.
The three waterfalls that were impossible to survive, without even the slightest bit of suspense. They just went over. 'Whoa!' Went over. 'Whoa!' Went over. "Whoa!' It was like a goddamn amusment park ride. Lame as hell. And the other was when Marion floored the gas and landed the jeep in the tree. Only to have the tree bend and safely sit them in the water below. The entire Peru part was just too fucking cartoony.
I should say first that I havent seen this movie yet. I'm going tonight at 9. But anyways, I think this line alone should be stated...I just feel like anyone making sequels at least 10 years after the original should run the movie through some sort of filter (in most cases, nerds of the series) instead of just putting whatever ideas they can do with modern tech in there whether or not it fits with the "history."
it's no really different than the other indy movies aside from more cg and stupid gophers that lucas shoehorned in, I liked it
edit: SPOILERS spielberg got to dust off the close encounters of the third kind props!!!
In Raiders Indy somehow rode on top of a Nazi submarine long enough to get to a secluded island, and in in Temple he and two other people survived jumping out of a diving plane onto a mountain by using a rubber raft that inflated on the way down. The waterfall thing is dumb, but in a way that lines up with the other movies just fine.
The tree did suck, though.
