All-Purpose Wrestling Thread

Pimping time (sorry Dole): Tomorrow night (Sunday) at 7 PM - aka right before the Money in the Bank PPV - I will be doing a live streaming interview with the head of Beyond Wrestling to talk about the company, his recent purchase of WSU and the Beyond show coming up at the end of the month. If you want me to ask any questions feel free to post them here. We will also be fielding questions live if any come in at that time.

So what are some must-watch wrestling movies or documentaries? So far I've seen The Wrestler (great) and Beyond The Mat (OK).

Wrestling Road Diaries is also good. Follows Colt Cabana, Sal Renaro and Bryan Danielson while he is on his last tour of the indies before going to WWE. A second one has been shot with Colt, Cliff Compton, and Luke Gallows, but isn't released yet. There's the million and one WWE documentaries on NetFlix now and No Holds Barred also is finally officially on DVD haha.

Cool, I checked out The Rise And Fall Of ECW last night and it was pretty good, though obviously Paul Heyman is very biased in all his interviews.

I'd have trouble taking any WWE-produced documentary seriously.

Yeah it is pretty bullshit seeing the WWE logo watermarked into a documentary about ECW.

I semi-disagree. They have a new squash character every month. Mason Ryan > Sheamus > Mark Henry > Funkasaurus > Kane (w/ mask) > Tensai > Big Show > Ryback. It's a tired forumla. They have enough people on the roster to put on entertaining shows without resorting to no-name people coming on and getting squashed. I feel that's a step back for how wrestling has progressed. They DO need to focus more on the undercard (and Jericho / Ziggler currently is a great approach) as a whole.

Prices out now for Wrestlecon (tickets going on sale September 5th): $339 for 1st row VIP package... that's 8 wrestling shows in 3 days 1st row (or 15 minute early entry to the GA shows). This is EVOLVE, DGUSA, CZW, CHIKARA, Kaiju Big Battel, and $5 Wrestling plus a convention the weekend of Wrestlemania. Anyone else planning on going? If not going to Wrestlecon, anyone at least going to 'Mania? I'm doing Wrestlecon, Mania, and then RAW the next night.

Punk's new heel character storyline is pretty bad and they are trying so hard to get the fans to boo him and its not really working. Not sure how good that kick to Lawler will help but we'll see next week. I have no interest in seeing another Lesnar/Triple H match but I guess thats whats going to happen at Survivor Series.

Daniel Bryan is awesome and I kinda dig Damian Sandow. I hope Cesaro is on TV more now that he has a title and I'll always mark for the Swiss Death.

CM Punk kicking Lawler is the kind of thing I would cheer for.
