My brother was telling me about it... said he got involved in the ring a bit, went back to his chair and was fine. Then out of nowhere he just fell over out of his seat. From what I've read over the last week though is that he's fine, no brain damage, etc. Pretty crazy.
On another topic, I'm at CHIKARA's King of Trios this weekend where some of the teams may be of interest to you guys. There was "Team Extreme" which was Tommy Dreamer, Jerry Lynn, and 2 Cold Scorpio. Team WWF was 123 Kid, Aldo Montoya, and Tatanka... and in a "name in a hat" team made it up they pulled the name of Stan Hanson (who wasn't backstage so they picked another name) and out comes Tito Santana. This was on top of the usual CHIKARA teams and a couple Joshi teams and Osaka Pro, so overall pretty darn fun teams to watch wrestling. Oh crap, also Meng, Barbarian, and Warlord. There was a fan fest before the show yesterday where a ton of the guys were out selling merch, they had CHIKARA roster members playing games with people. These included Battleship, Scrabble, and Apples to Apples to name a few as well as a Wii setup for some Super Smash Brothers and an Xbox 360 with Smackdown vs. RAW 2011 with CAWs of CHIKARA roster members and other guys at the shows this weekend.
I think the funniest story though is that there was a TNA house show the same day a few towns over and Kaz and Daniels were supposed to do a signing appearance to help promote it but people were talking on Twitter that they went there just to find out that after they paid to get in they were informed that Kaz and Daniels were not there. Fast forward 5-10 minutes and who shows up at the CHIKARA fan fest? I don't know the story behind it in terms of if they no showed one, if TNA canceled or what, but the bottom line is that I heard some people talking about skipping the fan fest to go see Kaz and Daniels and in the end they could have just gone to the fan fest and saw them. I bought a t-shirt off of them that they informed me they made on their own and therefore TNA wouldn't let them sell it or wear on TV ("Dixie banned this so I guess it's sort of a special thing. Whatever"). Word is that they were hanging in the back during the main event of the first night as well (Team ECW vs Team WWF).
So Night of Champions...
Nice match between Cena and Punk. Heyman didn't do anything either which kinda surprised me. I didn't care for the finish but we'll see how Punk reacts, possibly with a new belt which has been talked about for awhile (enough of that hideous spinner style belt).
Blandy Boreton goes over Dolph for some reason.
I like Sheamus but man do they make him way overpowered. Too bad because the match with Del Rio was solid. I thought Ricardo would do something as he looked pissed when Otunga and Del Rio called him stupid. His Virgil moment is coming soon anyways.
Love the Team Hug it Out stuff with Kane and Bryan...I'M THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!! They were beyond over with the crowd. Poor Kofi and Truth..lol.
I like Cesaro but no one cares about him. No cheer..no boos...zilch. ouch The crowd did mark for the swiss death though. I hope he can step it up with his character in his next feud.
I really think WWE are not handling their top guys well. Sheamus and Cena are both cocky jerks with no obstacles to overcome that will do anything to win or get at their opponent, while Punk and del Rio are the ones who end up getting their cars stolen or friends injured or are passionate about respecting the title. It's backwards! The heels are the honorable underdogs.
So I complained about Sheamus being too powerful yet he and Sandow had a great match on Raw. Even though Sheamus won the match made Sandow look really strong.
They had Cesaro destroy The Fuckasaurus but Cesaro still isn't getting much of a reaction at all from the crowd which is a shame. He's really good but needs to work on the promos and character.
oh..by the way....I'M THE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!!!
Cesaro got a reaction from. The crowd when he gave Sir Funk his finisher. Strong showing for him imo
Yeah that was great.
The format for this week's Main Event was neat, too.
Glad to finally be able to watch NXT again. I watched the first half of Main Event, I see it being like Superstars where it will start big and then become crap.
Looks like the seeds have been planted for an eventual Punk vs Austin Wrestlemania match. Punk and Vince doing their thing ("WHAT A MANEUVER!!!) and you have Ryback as a backup plan if Cena can't work the Hell in the Cell match.
Don't care about the Larry King crap though it did show Kofi by himself which sets his new singles run. I like the Prime Time Players...MILLIONS OF DOLLARS...MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!
