I was thinking the same thing. WWE is too much of a juggernaut to do anything but what it does. I mean it's gotten to where it is because of it!
It's like... WOW I THINK THEY'RE REALLY GOING TO DO SOMETHING NEW - Rey is the WWE Cha--nevermind John Cena is the World Champion. I thought Triple H was going to give John Cena marching orders to go and get the belt back from Punk and have them chase each other all over the country (or globe) for a few weeks at indy feds and other venues.
They really needed Punk to stay off TV longer and have him show up more in other companies. The next ROH show is in Chicago, and while a bit of a stretch, would have really added to the storyline had he not returned already.

Y'know, I haven't seen TNA in months but after watching some "Joker Sting" vids on youtube I'm kinda intrigued. That gimmick actually seems pretty entertaining.
I was thinking about how Val Venis was basically a Rick Rude clone without any of Rude's charisma or mic skills.

Worked shoots are my favorite form of wrestling promos. Love this one from Joey Styles when he left on-camera work for the WWE. It urks me to no end that hacks like King, Booker & Cole are on TV and Joey isn't anymore.
I hate that wrestling promos are all scripted these days. I mean, Vince Russo writes every single line that comes out of the mouth of TNA's wrestlers.
ECW did a lot of things right, but my favorite part of it was how Heyman just gave dudes a mic and let them talk about whatever they wanted to for their promos.
WWF actually used to be that way in the '80s, and that's why they used to have awesome promos from guys like Savage, Jake the Snake, Rick Rude, Warrior, et al.
Now it's just a bunch of idiots reading from a script Obama-style.

Everything is pretty deflated after that Summerslam wrap-up. I don't think it was bad, but it just seems like they completely spoiled the part of the show that was most interesting with the botched finish (leg on the rope) and the rehash of the money-in-the-bank briefcase yet again. Seriously the money in the bank cash-in has been used like 12 times now in the exact same fashion. I felt like the new Undisputed Championship would mean something a little more prominent and not be passed around like candy as it was for the past few years. D'oh well.

Loved the Orton/Christian match though. Reminded me of the late 90's early 00's WWE matches. Shemus/Henry match wasn't bad either.
These PPVs are always made about 200% better with the couple of guys who show up to the b-dubs that shows it and take the shit way too seriously. One dude was having a fit after the main event, saying it was bullshit and that they needed to fire HHH for his officiating, then flipped over a chair on his way out of the place while still talking to himself (he missed all the post match stuff).
That's why I miss going to watch PPVs at a public place. I can't find anyplace in Maryland that still does that.
Raw was awful last night, no payoff. I enjoy the WWE on Demand for my wrestling pleasure.

I don't mind Mark Henry's angry heel champ stuff if it means not having the belt across the waist of "The Channel Changer" Randy Boreton. Looks like Henry hurt Lawler when he slammed him on a non-gimmick table if you believe the reports.
I'm not crazy about the Sin Cara vs Sin Cara stuff since the match will just be them flipping around the ring like a couple of fish outta water and what happened to Daniel Bryan? I haven't watched Smackdown much so I don't know whats going on with him.

They fucked up the CM punk angle. Buried Alberto, Sin Cara vs Sin Cara both botch moves. TNA had my drawn in cause of Sting doing the Joker angle but they have too many Knockouts.
I was wrong Muppets they are coming in later, but they are having a WWE network coming. The King has anal bleeding from the Mark Henry Slam.
Mason Ryan is so bad but the dude is a monster. I like Cody Rhodes but he's used that disfigured face gimmick for way too long and Dolph Ziggler is very good all around. They should move the heat magnet that is Vickie away from Dolph and pair her with the dull Swagger (which I guess is coming soon). The awful David Otunga channeling his inner Clarence Mason (remember him?) but who cares since he sucks.

Hell in the Cell was alright last night. Solid opener with Sheamus (THE GREAT WHITE) and Christian. The Botch Cara match was awful and the crowd was dead as expected. Good to see Monster Heel Henry go over Randy Boreton. Can't remember the last true monster heel champ so good for Mark Henry. The old IC belt returns with Cody retaining over Melina's Bitch and I like that Cena didn't win the belt. I thought for a second that Cena was going to Hulk up and rip open the cage door but thankfully that didn't happen.
The last scene with Awesome Truth going nuts was fun and I guess will lead to a new group just in time for Survivor Series.
Mark Henry is ok as a monster heel. I enjoy big men matches in small amounts but I guess Big Show and Henry will have a program. Why didn't Kane rip the door open? Nice to see R-Truth get a push.

I read that The Genesis of McGillicutty may change his name to his real one (Joe Hennig). Doesn't really matter since he sucks anyways. His partner Otunga also sucks but his lawyer gimmick could become entertaining.

UPDATE: TMZ has picked up the Tomko story, labeling him as a "former WWE wrestler" and making no mention of his TNA stint. The site reports that Tomko was wanted on suspicion of robbing a CVS Pharmacy on October 10th where he allegedly threatened to attack the pharmacist unless he got several bottles of Oxycodone. The pharmacist says Tomko got away with 210 tablets.
Tomko was arrested in the bathroom of a local Chili's and when cops arrived on the scene, Tomko has "needle marks and blood running down his arm" and had just flushed something down the toilet. He was taken into custody and told police that he had a severe drug problem.
According to the police, Tomko admitted to taking the pills and said he crushed up and melted down 178 of the Oxycodone, which he then injected. He said he didn't threaten the pharmacist though.
His bond has been set at $7,500.

Vengence was alright. The tag title match was solid between Air Boom and "Zig Zag and Swag" (thanks Booker!). I didn't like the Triple Haitch/Punk vs Awesome Truth match and I thought Del Rio and Cena had a decent match (it got better at the end).
I'm still in love with Beth Phoenix.
I'm kinda liking Johnny Ace Funkhauser as the new interim GM since he has some heel humor put into his promos. He's not a good talker but the character works.
Cena and Del Rio was great IMO. Unique environment and they really went all out with some new spots.
It's obvious Triple H is just working CM Punk in a long con. Come Royal Rumble or around there he'll turn on him revealing himself to have masterminded an attempt to take down Punk's momentum.
Barry Windham is in rough shape, he either had a stroke or heart attack.
I love the Muppets. Hate the typical Cena RAW finish.

It was amazing. Jonas texted me about it and I was not disappointed.
Beaker being a member of the Sheamus clan was the best.
He spoke with Beaker as though he was his cousin (and Beaker did not dispute!). Amazing. Bagged Kermit was my favorite, though.

Beaker came out and gave Santino a potion Dr. Bunsen made to make him super strong. But it tasted like crap and Santino spit it out in the guy he was wrestling's face (Jack Swagger maybe?) and won the match that way. It was pretty well-written. WWE has been good lately. A solid Survivor Series with a really red hot NYC crowd. Punk wins and dives into the crowd, Rock looking good and the crowd was giving Cena the business (of course). Zack Ryder was over as hell. Ziggler was doing double duty again and Cody Rhodes was over with the crowd too. I didn't care for the Big Show/Henry match but it was crazy seeing Show do an elbow from the top rope. Took him awhile to get up there but he did it. lol

That Daniel Bryan vs Mark Henry match was awesome! When Henry hit that clothesline on Bryan it looked like his body had some ragdoll physics shit going on.
He sold well, but Henry took his MITB heat away by that win.

A mostly weak RAW. A terrible crowd too. Jericho with another trolling "promo". Brodus Clay went from bad ass to fat Ernest "The Cat" Miller. He does have personality so maybe this gimmick will get him over moreso than another big bad heel. I dunno.. SOMEBODY CALL MY MAMA!
