I just started the second one to mess around and I really like the way it looks. Leaning keys are much appreciated, body pickup seems handy... I'll probably actually play it after I get some other games finished.

Finished Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner for PSP. The game got alot better once you get through all the dialogue in the first 1/3 of the game.
Damn, you were focused. I really like it, but I just have so many other games that keep distracting me. How long do you reckon it took ya? (gotta estimate prolly since the game clock keeps ticking when the PSP is asleep).
Also, the jewel customizing scares me. I'm worried I'll waste all my points on gay upgrades for lame monsters. How did you approach it?
Beat Drill Dozer the other day. Got the rank of crook. Working on the last few treasures.
Beat Portrait of Ruin a few days ago with all the quests, good ending, etc. Overall I'm happy with it. My sentiments are similar to everything that's already been said about it: good riddance to touch screen shenanigans and soul collecting, the level design was a bit improved but still not on par with SotN. I liked the two character and portrait systems, and how it tied the game into Bloodlines. Overall the best handheld CV except for Circle of the Moon.
My biggest complaint is that the bosses were lame as fuck.
I would say it took me 20 to 25 hours (yah putting it in sleep mode made it 400+ hours lol). Once you get to capital city, you can buy all the upgrade quartz so you can waste/experiment anyway you want. The last 2 dungeons are fairly long and easy to get lost in so it took me longer than it should.
The amalgamy is actually not that bad. Someone at Gamefaqs posted an excel spreadsheet on how to upgrade the monsters. Even if not, just keep mixing the elements you want the monster to upgrade to and amalgate a few times and it should work. It is actually pretty addictive but the game is pretty easy. My highest lvl monsters are only 33 or so but they kick everyone's butt (including boss). Just don't forget to reinforce your monsters stats (both the base stats and also the combat abilities to +50).
The story actually gets alot better toward the last 1/3 of the game.

Beat Condemned.
Probably one of the scariest games I've played, and it had pretty cool combat. Hope a sequel does make it.
god of war 2.
after that ending, God Of War 3 HAS to be even more explosive then 1 and 2 combined.

Not a bad Rolling Thunder type game from Sega, but it's maybe a little too short. You will zip right through the first 10 of its 15 stages before you know it, and the last boss is fucking weak.
EDIT - Full Video Here - 2437100 pts. (played again to record)
