Remember Baxter paper? It was pretty good quality, and most of the comics I've seen now that used it still have white pages. I think the whole collection mindset of the medium has made this more important than it should be, and now you're paying $4 per comic for a story where you need to collect 6 different titles just to read it completely.

I used to collect a shit load of title, and there's no way I could do that when they're $4 each. I'd rather just wait and buy the trade. Marvel has also taken a major dump on a lot of the continuity/origins from the '80s, and the characters just don't appeal to me at all now. New and smaller stuff like the Walking Dead is much more appealing.

Hmm. I need to hop back on Walking Dead soon.

And it may be the best comix I ever read in my life. Joe Kubert is really really all that he's cranked up to be. I feel lucky to have stayed interested in comics this long so that I can appreciate his work. I hated war comics when I was young.

Anyone familiar with The Dylan Dog Case Files or Scalped? TDDCF just had it's entire run put out as a trade and it looks really cool (zombies). Scalped looks like a cool story and is 100 Bullets worth checking out?

Northlanders #17 is the fucking BOMB, stand-alone viking combat issue! Everybody should read that shit. Right now.

So UWvUH ended and it sucked.

Should have never released the rest of the issues imho.

The Old Man Logan that came out today however. Good shit.

Yeah, UWvUH was a piece of shit in the end. LAME LAME LAME. I bought it, read it, and forgot. Absolutely NOTHING in that series got even close to matching up to the carnage in the first issue.

Yeah, the ending for Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk let all of the air of the series as a whole. Although the last page/few panels was kind of funny, but not near enough to save the lame ending.

Old Man Logan Part 7 was really good though. Really good. Bad thing is, Part 8 is the Old Man Logan Giant-Size Special and it's not even solicited yet! As far as I just checked though, but if true, cripes.

Bart is actually alive again, he came back in Legion of Three Worlds (which is kind of an awesome series in its own right).

Not much has happened in the new Flash series, but the art rocks and you know Johns is going to deliver before long.

Scalped is seriously the best comic out there. It's a about a native badass policing a reservation for the band chief who's a corrupt casino owner - using nunchuks. It's actually one of the most real comics I've ever read, the dialogue and characterization is pretty incredible - totally unflinching. Aaron really does an awesome job of realistically portraying what reservation life is like; the relationships, emotions, everything. Sometimes it feels like you're really there.

I need to get into Scalped.
