If that's indulging, I don't want to know what you're going back to.
I'm looking to find a new "go-to" drink. Previously on the list were:
Gin/Tonic
Whiskey/Diet
Go-To drinks need to be easy/quick to make with few ingredients (who wants to stock all the stuff you need for a margarita?), versatile (who wants a margarita in January?), and tasty (!).
Gin/Tonic is too much of a "refreshing"/summer drink for year-round use and I'm tired of whiskey/diet.
Any help is appreciated.
vodka/lime
(or, more traditionally, gin/lime)
I'm a big fan of vodka and juices.
Lime juice? 1/1 or some other ratio? Will give it a shot.
More suggestions pls.
You can make it a bunch of ways, but generally it's 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 vodka to sweetened lime depending on taste. Too much sweetened lime juice will make the drink WAY too sweet. I generally go with a ~3.5:1 ratio and a splash of pure lime juice. Try googling vodka gimlet.
(use sweetened lime juice, the best of the best is:

and sold at most all liquor stores)
Yeah, I've got half of a big bottle in the fridge. Buddy down the street's been slowly working his way through it (he only drinks margs and apparently hasn't bought his own yet).
Will use Platinum 7x Vodka. It's an American vodka made from corn. Exceedingly smooth and by far the best vodka I've ever had. Yet more proof that what you pay for is not always what you get ($11/bottle).

Use gin. Vodka gimlet is lacking. 3:1 or 4:1 is good.
I haven't had a gimlet since I've started to enjoy gin, but I've always enjoyed a vodka gimlet. Maybe now that I appreciate gin I should give it another try.
Geez, did you do a Beer Draft?
Speaking of cheap beer. My roommate got a 12-pack of Miller Chill at the PX for $2. It's not very good (think a lime flavored Zima) but at $0.17 a bottle you can't complain.
