Jobs ain't gettin' any deader!
The hard drive in my Time Capsule took a shit. Nothing quite like a backup drive failing.
So iOS7 has this wonderful habit of restarting an app when I tab out. There doesn't seem to be any consistency to it, as sometimes it happens the instant I tab out and back and other times it won't happen unless I tabbed out and didn't come back for like an hour. Nothing to really worry about with stuff that doesn't require saving or has an Apple save file, but any legacy games that got ported to iOS are completely fucked since it wipes out my save. Super fucking irritating.
I also can't believe we're up to version 7 on a fixed storage space system and there's still no way to find out how much space a program requires to install. Does Android give that kind of information? It always struck me as an obvious thing that should've been in from the start, but years later it's still absent for no reason.
Mavericks is free and it's out today.
Free... for everyone from ML to Snow Leopard. That's pretty nice.
lol... Tim Cook trolling netbooks and nerd tech writers.
From the WSJ live blog:
"There's a theme here: Apple isn't going to try to profit from software anymore. Software is what gets you to hand over your credit card when you buy new hardware."
That's fascinating in the age of Software as a Service.
Yea, Apple is sticking to their guns on moving hardware. I guess giving away iWork or whatever is worth it if people are not tempted with Google Docs or Office 365.
iPad Mini - retina display, A7, etc. It's now basically the same as the regular iPad (now called the iPad Air) in a smaller screen.
Looks like the A7 is as much of a beast as first thought - no need for Apple to make a X variant for iPad.
I'm not a fan of the $70 increase in the Mini base price, despite the impressive features. This makes my whole phone/tablet decision even tougher than it was after not being excited by the 5S.
