I've never liked Apple mice either. The whole "not actually having buttons" thing is just something I could never get used to. I bring a mouse with me if I know I am going to somewhere where an Apple mouse might be my only choice.
I do like the 360 scroll ball though, it makes moving around the edit window in audio apps a breeze. Do any other manufacturers make mice with a similar scroll ball for PC? I want one.

It feels clunky for me to use any mouse since I got my Wacom tablet. The pen is a million times easier to use after a day or two of mental re-wiring. None of that pick-up-and-drag crap and no layer of unspeakable gunk building up of the bottom surface. No batteries for the decisive blow.Quote:

When I try to boot from the OS X 10.2 install disc, it occasionally makes a consistent, three-series beeping that will eventually loop until I force shutdown. I get the expected questionmark folder at standard bootup since there is no OS X on the HD. Also, I only have install disc #2.
This machine is old and may be broken in many ways. Is it worth the effort to get an install disc #1 to see if I can run disk utility, since it apparently can't be done on #2? There aren't many help pages around for G4s anymore.
