The ladder boss fight makes a return in Dark Souls
Peace Walker is way too addictive to be out right now in the middle of like 10 good games. Like, I have to get up and pee but instead I'm going to do one more mission good. Too bad the online is fucked right now.
Seriously. I was up til 3 last night playing it, I keep farming for stuff, and I need better soldiers, and well if I go back and do this mission I can get my Outer Ops guys back.
I've been playing MGS2, I'm actually kind of afraid of starting Peace Walker. I sunk something like 60 hours into the PSP game within a couple of months last year, and I rarely play anything more than 20 hours total.
Picked this up the other day and have been loving PW. Game is great, but it is sad to see how much it was held back by being on a portable. I'm up for playing some co-op if anyone is interested.
Peace Walker just keeps getting better and better. Especially when you go back and play 3 while you are playing PW. Playing 3 in HD and with the 360 pad definitely makes 3 a better experience, but I still hate the damn boss battles in that game.
I finally started this after deciding to play through it in numerical order, figuring I'll get 2 out of the way so I can enjoy the games I really wanted this collection for. It's fucking awkward going back to that old control scheme after all this time.
The high res textures and improved framerate look great, although it makes the blocky, last-gen models more apparent. Still, it's pretty crazy to think the PS2 was handling these games at all. I like that a lot of the old easter eggs yield achievements (I had a laugh at Snake Beater).
At first I was a little disappointed that MGS2 didn't look that much better, but I think that's more to do with the game looking really good on PS2 already. The game is still great, I need to finish it.
You chose wisely on the order, I've been told it's really hard to play MGS2 immediately after Peace Walker. I still haven't tried PW in the collection yet.
