Ghostbusters - Bustin Makes Me Feel Good!

I still hate Sony.

Seems like an all CG Ghostbusters movie may happen and Aykroyd said Murray would do it IF its done in CG. If this happens then maybe Zootfly will get the go ahead and do a game based on that movie.

Today, new information on the Ghostbusters project surfaced--courtesy of a member of the Ghostbusters cast. Touring in his native Canada as one half of the Blues Brothers, Dan Aykroyd revealed to the Edmonton Sun that he will be appearing in the game. He also revealed who holds the game rights to the film.

"Universal [Studios] purchased the rights from Sony for a game," Aykroyd told the Sun. "I'm actually going to have to perform and do some motion capture for them. That will be next year."

If correct, Aykroyd's comments have two implications: First, a Ghostbusters game won't appear until 2008--at the earliest. It also appears to debunk the Sony-as-spoiler rumor, although the blank YouTube pages which bore the game footage now read, "This video has been removed at the request of copyright owner Sony Pictures Entertainment because its content was used without permission."

One question the Aykroyd interview didn't answer was which company is publishing Ghostbusters. Given French media company Vivendi SA still has a major stake in its former subsidiary Universal, which is now part of NBC Universal, some assumed Vivendi Games would be distributing Ghostbusters.

However, a VG spokesman said his company has announced no such deal. "I can't comment," he gold GameSpot. "This is a rumor and we do not comment on rumors."

Did anybody play the Real Ghostbusters arcade game by Data East? I think it came out in 1987.

I bet that will work out REALLY well for Sony. I can see it now...Sony does this, MS courts these devs hardcore, and then they proceed to make a 360 exclusive that'll blow out anything on the PS3.

Yeah it was cloned after another game with a title change and some other minor changes. In fact they haven't even bothered to make it four player, so... somebody didn't make it.

Pretty lame, but they did say there were complications with the rights. So now we know.

the game didnt look THAT great. It was you running with an odd camera angle shooting lazers. "GOTY!!!!!" Everyone proclaims. This entire story just smells of dirty viral marketing. Throw a new skin on GoW and say sony is the bad guy. Get interest in a game that hasnt started production, and still bash sony. :bang:

Doesn't matter what it loked like. If that scenario were to unfold, MS would make sure the game is amazing.
