Grapple and smash. Their offensive power is balanced by their vulnerability. Kind of like Josh.
SHUT UP NICK. THEY ARE HARD. OK!?!
GAH!
Use the capture stream and just slam them against the ground.
that doesn't open the gate
damn it buttcheek!! use the slime tether!!! shoot one of the stone faces on the gate first and then shoot those little fuckers with the other end. Do this 3 times and the battle is over
for a noob maybe, I nailed 3 of them without a problem and if i remember correctly after you break all 3 seals the rest kinda go away cause it flips to a cinematic
I know dumptruck. I beat the game already. Days ago.
I'm just saying that was the hardest part of the game for me. Maybe it was because it was 6 am.
Gonna pick up the PS2 rev this week.
Why?
Cheap place to buy US games online that ship internationally.
GO!
Play-Asia? But they have the US version on backorder. :(
Fail.
I still need to pick up this game. Really short on cash though. :/
The cherub part was the only spot where I died. I must have used the slime tether to slam 50 cherubs into the ground before I realized they were just respawning and needed to get flung into the gate.
yeah i destroyed a ton of those things and then when I finally figured out what to do I felt like a dummy, lol
I knew the gate had to come down somehow. They tell you that in the cutscene right before. The whole time I'm smashing them in the ground I was also trying to tether the gate onto things to try to yank it off. Died and then figured it out.
i didn't pay attention to what they was saying, I saw monsters and just started blasting :)
The cherub place on professional is downright retarded. The arrows are one shot kills + splash damage, meaning when Ray comes to save your ass he gets taken out because they never stop shooting your dead body. WHEEE!!
AND THEN there are the little tombstone things fucking with Ray, was that really necessary at that point?
Also - the fence is invulnerable, it's the brickwork around it you're trying to fuck with (despite the skulls turning off one by one). I think it takes 6 angels total into the bricks above the fence before it goes down.
Slime tethering takes two aimed shots while you can quickly grab and smash the angels that always hover above the gate (your beam really just has to be in their vicinity for the grab to work) rapid fire like. Proton stream wins.
Now, someone help me get these retarded online achievements so I can be done. Everyone I play with has been an utter moron, failing to recognize the game types and just fighting ghosts blindly even in relic or thief mode. Fucking idiots.
get at me dude, I'll help
Tried the demo and it's underwhelming over exciting. It's Gears of Ghostbusters with enough fanservice to make fanboys convince themselves that it's something better than a mediocre 3rd person shooter.
Really hoping that demo is the only thing that sucks =(
you suck
ok, well in the demo it broke down like this:
- Walk around a lot with the PKE meter.
- When stuff came up, hit with either Blast (shotgun) or Grapple (lasso)
- Toward the end, fight two main guys with grapple while blasting book bats
- If you or a buddy went down, a finder icon much like Gears shows the location of a teammate
So...PKE meter. Kinda fun for figuring out where the main ghosts came from or went. Design-wise it was useless - where to go next was always blocked and triggered to unlock only when scripted events unraveled. Found out that some collectibles can only be obtained through its use. Kinda clever, but it began to dawn on me doing this sort of thing through the whole game would only slog down the pace. All for the sake of shoehorning collectibles in while maintaining some sense of coherency in the game world.
The different types of beams were interesting from a movie fan standpoint, but pretty standard fare for a first/third person shooter. Maybe later weapons/upgrades mix things up, but like I said this was from the demo.
With the fight at the end of the demo, things just felt messy. It would be fun to wrangle a ghost to a trap, only to get frustrating as there was no way of pulling/pushing it closer to the trap. Just up/down, left/right movements and the slam. Anytime it got close book bats would swarm and throw me out of any progress made. I could understand if this was set up in a way where you had to think about the timing between both types of enemies. Though from the demo it felt like two enemy patterns acting independently, and overlapping in a way that gave little room to work around. Also a shame that my buddy was too lame to provide cover.
Maybe it's unfair to say it's like Gears - closer to Matt Hazard then? A passable game that leans heavily on its novelty and writing to gloss over shortcomings?
Although again - this was my time on the demo. I even prefaced my observation with that, and hoping that it didn't reflect the scope of the full game. Because quite honestly I want this game, but not if it's another 6-8 hours of the 20 minutes I played today.
The full game is significantly better than Matt Hazard, but it's not quite in Gears' league. It's almost a 7-8-9 relationship in terms of quality. I actually enjoyed Matt Hazard for what it was, and the same can be said for Ghoustbusters but with far more polish and investment in things like voice acting.
I liked Matt Hazard until the stupidly DARK level with the squirtgun guys/sniper.
I really enjoyed Matt Hazard too, but am also aware of its technical shortcomings. It'd be the kind of game I'd buy for $40, think a steal under $30, but have no interest paying full price for. The demo has me feeling the same for Ghostbusters.
Ok so I rented this shit and then discovered that there's no split screen co-op campaign. That is fucking bush league and awful and my night and 8 dollars are fucking mostly wasted.
I'll have to play through it on my own now. What the fuck. Single player games can eat dicks.
Meanwhile the Wii and PS2 campaigns are co-op? What the fuck ever.
I think 360 and ps3 have co-op, but it is online only
Correct. Bush-league. I rented it specifically to play through co-op with my buddy just like we did RE5. OOPS hooray ignorance!
Anyway we beat it anyway, trading the controller. Decent enough game, SUPERB rental, very ghostbustersish. More laugh out loud moments than I was expecting, and fewer cringe moments. EGON IS AWESOME. Some of the dialogue was grating by the end though, lots of repeats by the end of the game.
Rent it, beat it, enjoy it, let it go.
Anyone still play this co-op or whatever it is?
Find Truck, he never gets tired of the game.
I need to finish some online achievements, but I believe that Polar Slimer is still busted? I'll have to check.
I'll play anytime :)
No 360 patch yet, busted achievements = fuuuuuck this game
GUESS WHAT
Patch coming this fall to fix online achievements! (Thanks for the heads up, Chux!)
Who wants to show this bitch how we do things downtown?
In the fall? Timely update.
I just bought this for 9 dollars from Gamefly. It should be here like, Tuesday. So yeah, I'm in.
As soon as the patch hits I will be all over multiplayer. I'll make John buy it, but he won't do it until 1000 points is 100% confirmed.
Multi seemed pretty easy from what I saw IF you had a decent crew. Most people online seem to ignore the rules of the game type and just run around like Ahole Spenglers eating shit and tug of warring ghosts between traps. Having a four person team of non-idiots would be OP as fuck.
I'm in
Patch has been out about a week, but achievements are still fucked. If you have never touched the multiplayer at all you should be able to start from scratch and get the 1000/1000, but I BARELY played it pre-patch and I'm already fucked =[
I'm helping John get some of the achievements, if you want to jump in and contribute I think we really need a third or even a fourth.
Protip: never pick Venkman, he never... shuts... up.
