I asked my lady and she said it was worded funny, so I asked a couple buddies and they said they could see how you could have done it. I def should have prefaced it or something. If it's any consolation, the part you had spoiled isn't even the biggest thing that happens prior to the season's end (at least hopefully).

I don't get these people running around on FB, the Chans, etc. The only time I ever got any joy spoiling things for people was my "Snape kills Dumbledore" status on AIM. Put it up some time after reading Order of the Phoenix and then just waited. They cry, "The book's been out for over a decade, no excuse," but for me part of the TV series fun is watching it with my buddies and seeing their reactions to things.

That said, though I knew what was going to happen in last Sunday's episode, that shit was still cray. I honestly didn't remember it like that. Anyway, though it's 2 years old now, I think I will prob be bumping the book thread once my copy of DWD comes in at the library.

I usually feel like the spoilers aren't the end-all-be-all, it's how the show/movie/game/book/sandwich gets to that point. It's not the plot points that are important, it's the telling of the story.

I like knowing the plot points, personally. The appeal of 'secret knowledge'!

ehh.. i think part of the experience is the affect the tension can have on a first time viewer that doesn't know what to expect. Building tension and subverting expectations is a part of the complexity of writing a story.

If you already know the outcome or are not experiencing the story for the first time, you digest a lot of that information differently.

You can enjoy something after multiple exposures, and even take away different pieces from the same material, but you are never going to recapture certain elements viewing something through for the first time.

YMMV, of course.

It was interesting watching the Matrix for the first time because I went in knowing nothing and the entire intro is set up to make the good guys look like bad guys and vice versa. Having even a vague idea of who the characters are would ruin that entirely, and that's not a moment I can ever recapture.

I get what you're saying and agree, Yeller, but even if the journey is the point I still prefer to not know. Not that such a thing is really possible regarding this series while also browsing the internet, but hey. It does amuse me how so many people are like, "I want to talk about this spoiler but I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't seen it but one of the two people in this picture just died and it's not the guy on the right!" Thanks, you did a great job keeping that subtle and obscure.

Spoilers are overblown these days. You go to GAF and people think a machine gun in COD or Ganon in Zelda is a spoiler. People think that the ending in movies from 15 years ago shouldn't be spoiled.

On the other hand this why some forums have 2 threads for GOT, one for book readers and one for not. GOT has these surprise deaths kind of out of nowhere and part of the fun is seeing it happen. The tv show is in some ways even better with that because they took out some of the foreshadowing in the book.

Damn, what a season finale.
