Just going by your description I would think he was doing it for someone else, as they requested him to do it, possibly for sharing in some web ring or something similar, and because he has a problem, he was so caught up in the fantasy he needed the emotional/psychological payoff that would only come by actually carrying out the deed, same as or much like a sociopath who just can't help it because they just can't control the urge once the fantasy is set in motion.

Maybe he wants to put it on youtube and have internet fame.

I could see hanging your wife, but why would you put in any effort to have sex with her?
