Dexter does the lazy Sopranos thing every year, where they bring on a guest star and kill them off in the penultimate episode
Season 2 was all Doakes, though. So we had one season that broke from the scheme a little bit. I would have loved to see the Trinity Killer get away last season. Would have been a fitting end for the story and taught Dexter a lesson.
Season 2 was all Lila, who follows the trend exactly.
My favorite season was S2 even though it followed that pattern, but I'd have liked it better if Dexter didn't go to Paris or wherever the fuck to kill Lila. But yeah, S1 - Ice Truck, S2 - Lila, S3 - Miguel, S4 - Trinity. The guest star dies every year.
Cameron: “Mitchell is a snob.”
Mitchell: “-No, I’m discerning.”
Cameron: “Official slogan for snobs."
I had difficulty getting through season 2 of Dexter (excuse me, Dex-tah). There were some elements I quite liked, treating his killing like an addiction, and Doakes tracking him down, but Lila was just awful. Every scene with her was like swamp sludge smeared onto the screen. She was so unpleasant and pale and that mouth, jesus christ. Then again, I quite liked the much maligned Season 3, so what do I know?
Nothing.
It's all downhill after Season one, imo. Descent into Dexters Zany Adventures™
