WrestleMania X8

And now from what everyones telling me is that it sux ass??? Holy guacomole. I hated the WWE SmackethDowneth engine, but adored the No Mercy one. Then I got Raw for the XBox. Hoping that a wrestling game would outshine the N64 game, but NOOO! The only reason I have a N64 is for No Mercy. Thats it and that sux. Now everyone is saying its horrible and thats the one reason I want a GC(right now anyway.) and now you're all saying dont play WrestleMania X8??? Hmmm...I'll try it out at my friends house. If it sucks ass...then I'll wait for Mario Sunshine to buy a GC.

Stop listening to what everyone is saying about the game and play it for yourself. I absolutely hate the Smackdown engine, but I had a lot of fun with Wrestlemania X8 back in March and at E3. I don't get the fascination with No Mercy either, since Wrestlemania 2K was infinitely better than it.

Seriously dude, rent it or something, because you might actually enjoy the game.

i just wanted to know what replaced the Hardy's music....thats all :(

I already e-mailed THQ about that, so we'll see what they say. IMO it's probably due to financial reasons. I know that Booker T's music is copyright Jimmy Hart (who's aligned himself with Acclaim and Legends of Wrestling), although I'm not sure where the nWo and Hogan's themes fall under. I mean, the most logical thing would be that they are also Hart's property if they were remixed, but I don't think they are.

As for the Hardyz music... well, no idea. Their entrance music is actually stock music (like the old Dudley Boyz theme), so I have no idea why that got cut out.

Oh well, it matters not if it is bad. Firepro is just around the corrner and Firepro D is here right now.

Not sure about the nWo either, but the Hogan song is a Jimi Hendrix song, "Voodoo Child"

I once heard the Harlem Heat's theme in a Kids in the Hall sketch, so unless Jimmy Hart spent the early 90's pimping out songs to Canadian comedy troupes I think it's safe to say it's stock music. A great deal of WCW themes were. Jericho, Goldberg, Rey, I think maybe even DDP's classic "Smells Like White Trash" - all stock. Of course the licensed stuff and the Hart stuff all sounded exactly the same so it's near impossible to tell what's what. Hell, maybe Hart composed all that stock music and made a mint offa all them NASCAR ads and talk shows using the songs. But I doubt it. WCW was awfully incompetent, but I can't imagine they wouldn't own the rights to the songs Hart composed. So if the nWo theme's in there but not the Booker theme, chances are the WWF got cheap and decided to only use their homegrown/acquired in WCW purchase music rather than shell out the cash for the licensed stuff.

It is my understanding that WMX8 uses the instrumental version of "Live For the Moment" rather than the version we are accustomed to hearing for the Hardyz entrance.
