E-mailed my bud at THQ and he said it basically came down to music licensing issues. Considering how insanely good this game is going to sell in the first place, I'm pretty sure that whoever held the rights to the songs THQ wanted didn't want to give them up, because THQ would've thrown a ton of money at them for these themes.

well, that's my speculation :) I think that it's either someone's not willing to give them the right to use the track, or the negotiations for the theme went on too long and weren't able to make it into the game.
my contact at thq said that they'll be working hard to make sure that all of the correct themes are in the game for next year, so you shouldn't worry about THQ not using those themes ever again.

I, too, enjoyed the game at E3. I played two matches and had fun. I noticed that I was repeating the same move alot, but I did not think too much of it.
Now that I have had a chance to play the full version in my home, I am upset at just how many wrong decisions were made with this title. My brother and I each bought a copy, but I am trading mine in. He owns almost every N64 wrestler, and he is keeping his, but he is less than enamored of it.
The Create-a-Superstar is an abortion. The number of front grapples is too limited. There is no localized damage. There is some poor collision detection: floating chairs and wrestlers walking through tables, for example. There is no blood. So many steps backwards were taken that it leaves you wondering what Yukes was thinking. See Giant Gram 2000 (Dreamcast) for an example of how a game can be arcade-y with a poor create-a-wrestler and still be a phenomenal experience. Why does the U.S. get the short end of the stick time and again when it comes to wrestling titles?
Not every game has to have every feature, but WMX8 represents a decline in quality that I would rather not support with my money. If this were just after the release of WCW Revenge or WWF Warzone, I would praise this game, but seeing this come out after Smackdown 3, WM2K, and No Mercy leaves a slightly bad taste in my mouth.
well I read I don't know how many reviews made by fans who have the game and only 3 said it sucked and the rest said it was either great awesome or good.
They were more than likely written by people who can handle all of the above mentioned flaws. I for one cannot handle these flaws when there are so many other excellent alternatives out there.Quote:

Look, we don't need to discuss what's so crappy about it -- if you've played it, you know. This post is to tell you guys who feel like I do what we can do about it.
1.) First off, if you hate it, take it back. This is the most effective way for THQ to hear us. The bottom line is money, and if this game doesn't sell as well as they expect, they'll hear us loud and clear. I'm taking mine back tomorrow.
2.) Secondly, let 'em know! We're consumers, we have a voice. Tell them what's wrong. Start with email. Here are the email addresses you'll need:

Start with THQ. When you email them, don't just scream profanity. Tell them exactly what you think, but do it intelligently. They'll listen. (I emailed them today -- I'll let you know when I get a response.

Tell them what you think. You wouldn't believe how effective this can be. I already got a resonse. I'll post it after this message.

Tell them you're a fan, you've bought their previous products including wrestling games (No Mercy, Wrestemania2K) and that THQ has released an inferior product that you have returned. This is important -- stress that the WWE is currently LOSING YOUR MONEY based on THQ's performance.
3. Write a letter. Email is great, and people take it seriously. But nothing packs the punch of a well-written letter. Here are the addresses you'll need:

I know writing a letter can be time-consuming and annoying, but that's exactly what shows these people that you care. Write one letter and send it to all three (it's good if THQ knows that the WWE and Nintendo are getting your letter.)
Look, this stuff works. We have a right to be heard. THQ will listen if we present ourselves intelligently. I have written several letters and emails already, and I will write several more.
I'm mad. They ruined my beloved wrestling games. And I'm going to do something about it.

you contact THQ directly, and explain your disappointment to them. In

That's bullshit because all original WWF songs are published by Stephanie Music, a division of the WWE. That gives THQ the rights to those songs by having the WWE license. I can maybe see there being no nWo music, or Booker music, or even Flairs music, cause EA might still have the WCW music rights, and Flairs music is some old classical stuff, but the WWE music should all be in there. Especially considering that Trish, Tajiri, Hardyz, etc. all had their music in RAW and SD which both came out mere months ago.Quote:

Classical music is all PD because it was written before copyrights. you'll notice that flair's music was also used in 2001 (the most widely known existance of that song).Quote:
