Yeah but there's a HUGE difference between analog lo-fi and digital lo-fi. In fact thay're not even close to being the same thing. And one of them sucks.
I can promise you that none of the black metal from your youth was recorded digitally.
There is a SERIOUS backlash against digital recording techniques going on as we speak. I honestly believe that bands are going to be moving back to analog recording.

I'm trying to find the mp3 of an extremely lo-fi tape deck recording that 88mph did recently and I can't. Bummer, because i think it's my favourite sounding recording I've done.
