Duke Nukem Forever

I suppose that's true, but I had no expectations going into it and it's development cycle as still like half of DNF.

EDIT: Actually, fuck, wasn't Prey started in like 1995 or some shit? Maybe DNF does have some chance in hell.

prey: announced 1995, released 2006

dnf: announced 1997, released 2008/9 (maybe?)

who knows how much development time went into each game before their final build, but the timelines are similar.

I predict 3D Realms starts taking pre-orders, and much to the surprise of customers, a beta 1st level is given upon receipt.

Only a month later, they announce the company is now bankrupt and that they finished the second level, but no longer have the money to publish it.

I think they stopped work on Prey for awhile and came back with new tech.

I seem to be having trouble downloading the trailer at work. Someone tell me if it looks like shit or not. The couple of screenshots on the site make it look like bad Doom 3 characters models with no background graphics.

Oh, and LOL. After all this time and they can only offer us a 1 MINUTE trailer. However, it's probably all the game they have developed at this point so 3D Realms should probably be commended for sharing it all with us.

I honestly do want this to be good. I mean, Duke 3D was the first FPS I really got into, and playing it again a couple years back made me realize that it's actually a great game, not just nostalgia.

If this has enemies and weapons half as awesome as the original, it can't suck. But I shouldn't be hopeful at all, for obvious reasons. Hell, how much of the original team could be there?
