This game could be good. It needs insanely clever weapons (my friend and I had hour long trip mine/pipe bomb fights) and lots of beer. But it'll never be released. Hopefully the next trailer in 3 years will be better.
That trailer sucked, you would think they would put something really mindblowing in a trailer for an already hopelessly dead game.
I guess theres still hope? Did Prey really turn out ok? My only memory of it is playing the demo whilst tripping on LSD and listening to Frances the Mute. That said, it was FUCKING REAL. Maybe everyone just needs to do that for this game.
Prey was quite fun in the end.

Actually seeing this game on a store shelf would be like having Elijah actually show up at a Seder dinner.
You'd be like "No way! Elijah's here!". And because he's 4000 years late he's wearing olde tyme desert robes. But he was able to stop at the Men's Warehouse and at least get a really nice suit jacket and shoes to put over his robes.
And you'd be super-psyched to have Elijah over. And he'd be a great guy and all. Nice to everybody. Fun to talk to.
Then you'd notice that he used the wrong fork for the salad and he had his elbows on the table once or twice. Not that you really give a damn about stuff that trivial. But damn, this is Elijah. Something somewhere in the back of your brain is just bothered by his use of the wrong fork.
But the whole evening is fantastic overall. The major members of your family all give it a 9.5. As Elijah leaves, he mentions that there's billions of other houses he has to visit in the comming years, so he won't be back.
Next year you long for the anticipation that the wait for his arrival brought, but it's gone.
That's what the release of this game will be.

This trailer is the equivalent of seeing Jesus in your toast. It may be neat to look at, and you are glad it appeared, but that doesn't make it any more real.

Doom was already in 3D, what with there being three axises, and all.
It's worth noting that Serious Sam: Second Encounter is the single best fast-action FPS ever made, even though First Encounter had the best final level. Doom and Doom II were excellent, of course, and there's no denying they deserve their legendary status, but the first two Serious Sams were just better games.

Now that some of the dust has settled, it looks like these guys really got fucked bad. The game was apparently 90% done (and not bullshit 90% done by time, but 90% of the work was actually completed) and it was likely a few months from completion, but Take Two was trimming fat and, well... I'll just avoid the obvious George Broussard joke, here.
I mean, really, no one can act like they hadn't been incredibly lucky to have as many chances as they did, and certainly many promising projects have been canceled for disasters that aren't even close to what went on with DNF, but it's still pretty harsh to yank things out from under them on the final leg of 12 year journey like that.
Isn't the game being handed off to somebody else for completion?
