Probably something about you living in a different country were the market is wastly different to the point were you can get a 20gig PS3 for around 410$ (if I'm not mistaken). And thats for a new piece of hardware unlike the one you bought if memory serves me.

As to the topic, I think it really goes back to Dreamcast - a lot of people are still holding a grudge over that, and SCEA's stance against localizing old-school/"hardcore"-targeted games hasn't helped either.

they made a lot of statements regarding the ps2 as well. the only thing that saved them before (which is the exact same thing theyre hoping will move units again this time) is the "non-gaming" implications of the system.
