I played the beta and prerelease and I approve of this game. I've started a character on the Targonor server (PVE) and managed to hit level 9 before the game "launches" tomorrow.
If anyone decides to play look me up. I play as Durain the dwarf warrior.

I really wanted to like this game, but it ran horribly on my comp, maybe after 2 or 3 months it will be stable, but i was having massive bugs the last day of beta, so im thinking either its an upgrade away from me or it needs a few good patches. Its a shame because what i saw was great, it just too bugged within a few days of release. Lemmie know when they get the stability locked down.
After ruining the deepest MMO yet released with two downgrades to make it more casual-friendly, SOE has lost my business for good.

your honor is restored :D . but yeah, vanguard had promise, but damn, the text still was glitching, about 8 days from release, this game is launching pre beta. Im hoping for the best, but i agree, star wars was cautionary, eq2 even took some mainstreaming because people couldnt understand the concept of the class progressions, that bugged me.
I am play in PVP (FFA) - Tharridon. my level is low in game.
I saw the other player have high attack power in game..
maybe they have a weapon that have high attack.
i am poor in game .someone can tell me that gain the gold fast..

After playing more LotRO and reading more about this, I decided that Vanguard deserves a chance. LotRO is WoW, which is everything I don't like about MMOs. Vanguard seems as close to SWG as we're going to get any time soon. I'm donwloading the client now and will look up Six and post impressions when I get a chance to get in-game.
I tried it and it ran like garbage and seemed boring, I will admit that I didnt give it a good look. I will keep an eye out to see what your thoughts are.Quote:

did she try eq2? that crafting was really good,and actually added the reaction mini-game where you coudl increase or decrease the quality of the item by hitting the right crafting skills at the right time. The problem is that she loved SWG crafting, and EQII wasn't even close to that. It sounds like Vanguard may be as close as she can get these days.
I now have a level 7 Goblin Disciple on Targonor. I haven't reached a major city yet, which I am guessing where you start crafting, so I can't speak to that. The Diplomacy concept (card game to win favor with NPCs) is very, well-implemented. I can't wait to get deeper into that.
As do I, however the feeling I gather from most Vanguard forums is that it is a pay to play beta in its current state.Quote:

I went with with the "High Performance" choice and then moved the slider on detail to 100%, and the game runs very well. It clearly is not pretty enough to need 2 GB of RAM and the other recommended specs, but at least it is smooth for me.
I am enjoying the game so far. My Goblin, Yossy Desune, is now level 10. :p I picked up Mining and Quarrying as my harvesting skills and Artificer as my crafting skill. Goblins get a racial bonus in Mining, and I want to build my own houses and ships with Artificer.
The Diplomacy "sphere," as the game calls it, it so damn awesome. I am having a blast. The balance between adventuring, crafting, and diplomacy is perfect. Kudos to the developers for letting you equip a different outfit for each sphere and then change with a button click, no macros required!
Where did you get a demo? I was in beta which could explain the poor performance.
I looked briefly for a demo and all I saw was the need for a friend invite.

I've been rocking with my main (warrior) and hit 27 last night adventuring and I'm almost 25 in crafting (weaponsmith). I've also got a few alts to mess with - 9 Necro (Thestra), 6 Cleric (Qalia), 7 Monk (Kojan) if anyone wants to group. I'm KOS in gob-land AFAIK, though.
So if you're playing on Targ and need weapons sent me a mail and I'll hook you up. The guild also has an armorsmith I might be able to talk into discounting stuff.
I play on a 2ghz Athlon 64 with 1gb of ram and an old Radeon 9500. I get 15-20 fps on medium detail. The game is totally playable unless a gazillion mobs are on screen.
Also, check out vgsohinterface.com and get the DroxUI - it's the best IMO and totally customizable.
Alters and corpse summon FTL but Vanguard is generally pretty good and better than any current MMO, IMO.
six, if j dosent want it, lemmie know, if they cleaned stuff up since beta, i want to give it a shot. i know in beta i saw a hell of a lot of promise, but there were just insane bugs still around.
Give him a go at it Six, I am real busy right now and have LOTRO that I am digging into.

Hey guys. Sorry, I'm at work so I"m blocked off from viewing just about any gaming site. Can someone tell me whether the FFA PVP server is totally PVP, as in you can get attacked anywhere? I heard there is only one FFA PVP server. Is that true? And also does the game have an animal pet class like EQ's beastlord or Wow's hunter? Thanks.
