S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

Don't let Crysis make you forget about the other fps PC games out there. Stalker has been a long time coming and I for one thought it was never going to come out. I believe there were rumors of the original team abandoning the game (need to confirm that one).

I think this is a good time for this game to come out. There are a few other games on the radar around march but nothing like it was a little over a month ago.

Not really sure if anyone cares about the game at this point. At the very least it deserves a glance. Could turn out to be poop though.

I'm looking forward to it as I dig the whole Chernobyl environment. I guess the game was a bit too ambitious for the devs but it looks like most of the stuff they wanted to do got in. I think it still looks pretty darn good and if that AI they keep talking about works out then we could have a fine game. Its also cool that its not the usual corridor fps stuff but a big open environment you can explore.


Hopefully a demo will be released soon as all the impressions I've been reading have all been very, very positive. We could have a winner here!

GFW interviewed the development team (based in the Ukraine) a couple issues ago. It was pretty interesting. They actually took the writer on a guided tour of Chernobyl.

I'm looking forward to this as well.

I was hyped for this game way back when it was supposed to come out, but I've been having trouble recapturing that enthusiasm. Hopefully the demo blows me away or something so I can get excited again.

Needs a port to 360 IMO.

I think Joust is a script or some kind of simple AI routine.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R., back in the day looked so impressive and had so many cool innovations... now with a lot of cuts made and DX10 games around the corner, it's wait and see for me.
