Transferring pictures from Cell Phone

My cell phone has served pretty well (including being frozen in a block of ice for 3 days in a blizzard), but is slowly dying out.

Problem is every picture I took from my fiance and I's first year of dating is on the phone and I want to transfer them to PC. My cell phone provider directed me to Radio Shack who offered up a cord/disc that runs $70. I suppose that's the last resort, is there any other options? Or easy places to find second software like this? Thanks. *-neo

Either e-mail it to yourself from your phone or eBay the cord. I got one for my Verizon LG VX8300 from eBay for $6.

If its not a Nokia, then Id say get a cord from online. My old Nokia gave me trouble. The whole thing just gave me so much trouble when I tried to transfer the stuff from my cell. I have a slvr with cingular service now and I dont have any troubles. The only problem is that vga cameras suck. Oh well. Id rather have the freedom to tranfer my pics than be forced to use "TEH POWAH NETWOERK" that sprint had to upload my pictures to the internet and then download them later.

Bluetooth?

If it's a Verizon phone/plan, you're SOL, as you'll have to email them all to yourself at your expense (usually 25 cents per photo.) If you don't like the idea of that, you'd have to spend a lot of time and effort hacking the phone in order to get transfers to work.

See if your phone is supported by BitPim. If it is, get a cheap cable off eBay ($70 is retarded--I got a cable for my old phone for about $12 shipped) and use BitPim to pull the files off.

It took me about two minutes to install the drivers needed to hack my Verizon phone and an extra 4 minutes to get the software needed to transfer files and make ringtones. Obviously our definition of a lot of time and effort are vastly different.

I myself felt it was a hassle if you have to hack your phone to make it do what God almighty intended it to do when he created cell phones in nature.:chu:

I have a Sprint phone. The pictures go straight to the memory card. I can put the card in my computer and take them right off. My phone even came with the datacable i could use if i didn't have the card reader already.

Which phone do you have? I wanted the Slvr, but the usb function was blocked off, and you couldn't use Bluetooth to do transfers either. Even the memory card was buried deep underneath the battery, so that if you wanted to do a quick swap or something you couldn't. Lame.
